Audi Q6 e-Tron ADAS Calibration

The Audi Q6 e-tron is built on the Premium Platform Electric (PPE) – a new architecture shared with the Porsche Macan Electric that completely redesigns sensor placement compared to Audi's MLB-based SUVs. The front radar is integrated into the bumper rather than behind the traditional grille badge, and the forward camera sits behind a heated windscreen section to prevent fogging. If either sensor is disturbed during repair, Adaptive Cruise Assist, Pre Sense, and Active Lane Assist all need recalibrating to the PPE's unique reference geometry.

The Q6 e-tron (2024+) launches with Audi's newest ADAS architecture:

  • Park Assist Plus – automated parking using ultrasonic sensors and cameras

The PPE platform moves the front radar from the traditional grille-badge position used on Q5 and Q7 models to a bumper-integrated module. This changes the repair-triggered calibration profile: the radar is less exposed to minor grille damage but more sensitive to bumper replacement geometry.

Common Calibration Triggers on the Audi Q6 e-tron

After Bumper Replacement

Because the Q6 e-tron's front radar is integrated into the bumper assembly rather than the grille, any bumper replacement – even with OEM parts – requires radar recalibration to the new part's exact mounting position. Pattern or aftermarket bumpers introduce additional alignment uncertainty.

After Windscreen Replacement

The Q6 e-tron's heated windscreen zone around the camera mount adds complexity: the replacement glass must match the heated zone specification, and the camera needs recalibrating to the new windscreen's optical properties. If your windscreen company couldn't complete the calibration, we handle it.

EV-Specific: After Battery or Suspension Work

Battery servicing that lifts the vehicle or alters ride height can shift the radar and camera reference angles. The Q6 e-tron's air suspension (optional) adjusts ride height dynamically – if the suspension module is reset or replaced, ADAS sensors may need recalibrating to the new baseline.
