Manufacturer schedules and when to book How Long Does ADAS Calibration Take? Typical durations per service and what affects them
The BMW iX1 is BMW's first fully electric compact crossover – and its ADAS suite is entirely camera-and-radar dependent with no mechanical fallbacks. Built on the FAAR platform, the iX1 carries Driving Assistant as standard on every trim, with Driving Assistant Professional available as an upgrade. When a sensor is disturbed by a bumper repair or windscreen replacement, the electric drivetrain's regenerative braking integrates with ADAS functions, meaning a miscalibrated radar doesn't just disable cruise control – it can affect how the car decelerates.

Common questions about calibrating ADAS systems on the BMW iX1
Yes. The iX1's forward-facing camera is bonded to the windscreen and handles Lane Departure Warning, Speed Limit Info, and Front Collision Warning input. When the windscreen is replaced, the camera position shifts — even fractionally — and must be recalibrated using manufacturer-approved static targets. This is our £199 windscreen calibration service.
