My DS 3 is pre-2016 — does it have ADAS?

Early DS 3 models (before the 2016 update) do not have camera-based or radar-based ADAS. They may have basic parking sensors. Only DS 3 models from 2016 onward with the windscreen camera require ADAS calibration.

Is DS 3 calibration the same as Citroën C3 calibration?

The DS 3 and Citroën C3 (second generation) share the PF1 platform, so the camera position and calibration process are similar. The original DS 3 hatchback predates the CMP platform that underpins the rest of the modern DS range – it sits on the older PF1 architecture shared with the Peugeot 208 (first generation) and Citroën C3 (second generation). Its ADAS suite is basic, but the windscreen-mounted camera for Active Safety Brake and Lane Departure Warning still needs recalibration after glass replacement.

ADAS Systems on Your DS 3

The DS 3 (2016+ with ADAS) has a limited but functional driver assistance configuration:

Active Safety Brake – automatic emergency braking via the windscreen camera. City-speed coverage for vehicles and obstacles
Active Lane Departure Warning – alerts when the vehicle drifts toward lane markings without indicating
Speed Limit Recognition – camera reads road signs on higher-trim models

The forward camera sits behind the rear-view mirror. The DS 3 does not have front radar on most variants – Active Safety Brake relies on the camera alone. Pre-2016 DS 3 models have no camera-based ADAS and do not require calibration.

Active Safety Brake Warnings

If your DS 3 displays Active Safety Brake warnings without a recent repair, the camera may have shifted from road vibration or sensor contamination. A diagnostic scan identifies the cause. The DS 3's PF1 platform uses an earlier generation of Stellantis ADAS, but our equipment supports it fully.
