ADAS Systems on Your DS 7

The DS 7 (2018+) on the EMP2 platform carries the most comprehensive ADAS suite in the DS range:

• DS Drive Assist 2.0 (facelift models) – adaptive cruise with lane centring, Semi-Automatic Lane Change, and Intelligent Speed Adaptation. Pre-facelift models have DS Drive Assist (Level 1)
• Active Safety Brake – AEB detecting vehicles, pedestrians, and cyclists via camera and radar fusion
• DS Night Vision – infrared camera mounted in the front grille, detects pedestrians and animals up to 200 metres ahead, displaying thermal images on the instrument cluster
• DS Active Scan Suspension – uses the same windscreen camera as ADAS to read road surface conditions and adjust damping in real time
• Active Lane Keeping Assist – steering correction when drifting
• Adaptive Cruise Control with Stop & Go – radar-based, handles traffic queue management
• Long Range Blind Spot Monitoring – rear bumper sensors
• Rear Cross Traffic Alert – warns of vehicles approaching when reversing
• Extended Traffic Sign Recognition – camera reads speed signs

Three calibration points: windscreen camera (behind rear-view mirror), front radar (in bumper), and infrared camera (in grille). After a front-end collision, all three may need independent recalibration.

Why Your DS 7 Might Need ADAS Calibration

After Windscreen Replacement – Camera and Suspension

Replacing the DS 7's windscreen displaces the camera that powers DS Drive Assist, Active Safety Brake, Traffic Sign Recognition, and DS Active Scan Suspension. If your DS 7 has ADAS warnings and the ride feels different after a windscreen swap, both systems need recalibrating through the shared camera. Our Windscreen Calibration at £199 covers it.

After Bumper or Grille Repair – Radar and Night Vision

The DS 7's front bumper contains the radar, and the grille houses the Night Vision infrared camera. A bumper replacement, grille repair, or front-end collision can misalign both sensors. If cruise control stopped working or Night Vision displays errors, radar calibration and infrared camera recalibration are needed.

DS Night Vision Faults

Night Vision is a feature most garages have never serviced. If the infrared camera in the grille has been disturbed – by a collision, grille replacement, or even stone damage – the thermal image on the dashboard becomes inaccurate or Night Vision displays an error message. We calibrate the infrared camera alongside standard ADAS sensors.
