Ferrari 296 GTB ADAS Calibration

The 296 GTB is Ferrari's mid-engine V6 hybrid – and even if you never ticked the Full ADAS Pack on the options list, your car has AEB as standard. That means a front radar behind the bumper that requires recalibration after any front-end repair. If your 296 GTB's emergency braking system flagged a warning after bodywork, the radar is the first thing to check.

ADAS Systems on Your Ferrari 296 GTB

The 296 GTB (2022+) sits on Ferrari's mid-engine sports platform:

  • Autonomous Emergency Braking (AEB) – standard on every 296 GTB. Uses the front radar integrated into the bumper.
  • Full ADAS Pack (optional) – adds Adaptive Cruise Control with Stop & Go, Lane Departure Warning, Blind Spot Detection, Rear Cross Traffic Alert, Traffic Sign Recognition, Surround View Camera, and Auto High Beam.

The key distinction: every 296 GTB has a radar behind the bumper for AEB, but only those with the Full ADAS Pack have the windscreen-mounted camera for lane and sign recognition. If your 296 GTB has ACC, it also has the camera.

The radar sits low in the front bumper – a position that makes it particularly susceptible to displacement during front-end work on a car with just 120mm of ground clearance.

Common Triggers for 296 GTB Calibration

Bumper Repair After Kerb or Speed Bump Contact

The 296 GTB's mid-engine layout places significant weight over the rear axle, but the nose sits extremely low. Front splitter and bumper contact with kerbs, speed bumps, or car park ramps is common. Any repair that involves removing or refitting the front bumper shifts the AEB radar. A radar recalibration is required to restore emergency braking accuracy.

After Collision Repair

Front-end or rear-end collision repair on the 296 GTB can affect multiple sensors. Front impacts shift the radar. If the car has the Full ADAS Pack, rear impacts can disturb Blind Spot Detection sensors in the rear bumper corners. Our Collision Calibration addresses both.

Windscreen Replacement (ADAS Pack Cars)

296 GTB owners with the Full ADAS Pack have a windscreen-mounted camera. Every windscreen replacement requires camera recalibration – the glass change shifts the camera from its factory-set position.

Ferrari 296 GTB ADAS Calibration — FAQ

Common questions about calibrating ADAS systems on the Ferrari 296 GTB

Yes. AEB is standard on every 296 GTB, meaning the front radar behind the bumper is present regardless of options. If your bumper has been removed, repaired, or replaced, the radar needs recalibrating to ensure emergency braking works accurately.
