Ford EcoSport ADAS Calibration

Ford discontinued the EcoSport in 2022, replacing it with the Puma – but hundreds of thousands remain on UK roads as affordable small SUVs. Unlike the Puma and Kuga, the EcoSport runs a simpler ADAS setup: camera-only on most trims, with no front-mounted radar. That means windscreen replacement is the primary calibration trigger, and the cost is lower than Ford models with radar systems.

ADAS Systems on the Ford EcoSport

The EcoSport (2014–2022 UK) has a more basic ADAS configuration than Ford's newer crossovers:

  • Pre-Collision Assist with AEB – camera-only on most trims. The forward-facing camera behind the windscreen detects vehicles and pedestrians. Unlike the Focus or Kuga, the EcoSport does not have a front-mounted radar on standard models – AEB range is shorter as a result.
  • Lane-Keeping Alert – windscreen camera monitors lane markings and provides steering vibration warnings. This is an alert-only system – no active steering correction like the Focus Mk4's Lane-Keeping System.
  • Traffic Sign Recognition – reads speed limits via the windscreen camera.
  • Rear Parking Sensors – ultrasonic sensors. The EcoSport's rear-mounted spare tyre sits directly above the rear sensors, so tyre or carrier replacement can affect sensor alignment.

Higher-spec EcoSport models (ST-Line, Titanium) may include BLIS in the rear bumper, but this was not standard across the range.

Common ADAS Triggers for EcoSport Owners

After windscreen replacement

The EcoSport's ADAS is almost entirely camera-dependent. A windscreen swap without camera calibration leaves Pre-Collision Assist, Lane-Keeping Alert, and Traffic Sign Recognition offline. This is the single most common calibration reason we see for this model.

After a Cat S/N purchase

The EcoSport's lower price point means it appears frequently in the Cat S and Cat N salvage market. If you've bought a salvage EcoSport and ADAS warning lights are showing, the camera likely needs recalibrating after the rebuild – not replacing.

Ford EcoSport ADAS Calibration — FAQ

Common questions about calibrating ADAS systems on the Ford EcoSport

Most EcoSport trims are camera-only — the forward-facing windscreen camera handles Pre-Collision Assist and Lane-Keeping. There is no front grille-mounted radar on standard models, unlike the Ford Kuga or Ford Puma. This makes windscreen replacement the main calibration trigger rather than bumper repairs.
