Ford Edge ADAS Calibration

Ford pulled the Edge from the UK market in 2024, but this mid-size SUV packed one of the most comprehensive ADAS suites in the Ford range – including Evasive Steering Assist, a system not found on many of its siblings. Thousands remain on UK roads, and a single front-end repair can knock out Pre-Collision Assist, ACC, and Evasive Steering all at once because they share the same radar behind the grille.

ADAS Systems on the Ford Edge

The Edge (2016–2024 UK) launched with Ford's most advanced ADAS package before Co-Pilot360 branding arrived:

  • Pre-Collision Assist with AEB and Pedestrian Detection – forward camera and radar. The radar mounts behind the Ford badge on the front grille.
  • Adaptive Cruise Control with Stop & Go – radar-based. Standard on all UK Edge trims from 2019.
  • Evasive Steering Assist – works with Pre-Collision Assist to steer around obstacles when braking alone won't avoid a collision. Relies on both camera and radar – a misaligned sensor disables the entire chain.
  • Lane-Keeping System with Lane-Centring – windscreen camera provides active steering correction. Full lane-centring came with the 2019 facelift.
  • BLIS with Cross-Traffic Alert – rear bumper radar sensors for blind spot and reversing detection.

Common ADAS Triggers for Edge Owners

After collision repair

The Edge's SUV profile means higher insurance claims and more body shop visits. Front-end collision work shifts the grille-mounted radar – and because Evasive Steering Assist depends on that same radar, a misaligned sensor disables three systems simultaneously: AEB, ACC, and ESA.

After windscreen replacement

The forward camera behind the rearview mirror handles Lane-Keeping, Lane-Centring, and Traffic Sign Recognition. If your windscreen was replaced without camera calibration, these systems stay offline. We see this frequently when generic fitters don't have the Ford-specific calibration tools.

Ford Edge ADAS Calibration — FAQ

Common questions about calibrating ADAS systems on the Ford Edge

Yes. The Edge was Ford's flagship SUV in the UK and included Evasive Steering Assist and full Lane-Centring as standard on post-2019 models — systems not available on the Kuga until later updates. More sensors means more calibration points after repairs. See all Ford models.
