Ford Focus ADAS Calibration

The Ford Focus is one of our most common passenger car calibrations – and the Mk4 (2018 onwards) carries Ford's full Co-Pilot360 suite, meaning a single bumper repair can knock out Pre-Collision Assist, Adaptive Cruise Control, and Lane-Keeping in one go. If your Focus dashboard is showing "Pre-Collision Assist Not Available" after bodywork or a windscreen swap, the sensors need recalibrating – not replacing.

ADAS Systems on the Ford Focus

The Focus Mk4 (2018+) comes standard with Ford's Co-Pilot360 package:

  • Pre-Collision Assist with AEB – forward-facing camera and radar detect vehicles and pedestrians. The radar sits behind the Ford oval badge on the front grille.
  • Adaptive Cruise Control with Stop & Go – maintains distance and brakes to a standstill in traffic. Radar-dependent.
  • Lane-Keeping System (LKS) – the windscreen-mounted camera tracks lane markings. Any windscreen replacement requires camera recalibration.
  • BLIS (Blind Spot Information System) – radar sensors in the rear bumper quarters detect vehicles in adjacent lanes.

Earlier Focus models (Mk3, 2014–2018) have Pre-Collision Assist and Lane-Keeping Alert as individual systems – no Co-Pilot360 branding, but the same calibration requirements apply after repairs. The Mk3 uses a simpler single-camera setup mounted to the windscreen, while the Mk4 adds a grille-mounted radar for ACC and AEB.

Why Your Ford Focus Might Need ADAS Calibration

After bumper repair or replacement

The Focus Mk4's radar sensor sits behind the front grille emblem – the same mounting position as VW Group vehicles. Even a minor front-end repair that involves removing the bumper shifts the radar alignment. If your cruise control or Pre-Collision Assist stopped working after a body shop visit, radar recalibration restores both systems.

After windscreen replacement

If your windscreen company replaced the glass but Lane-Keeping or Traffic Sign Recognition stopped functioning, the forward camera behind the rearview mirror needs recalibration. We handle the calibrations that windscreen fitters like Autoglass can't complete.

"If your Ford Focus cruise control stopped working after a bumper repair, the radar behind the front grille likely needs recalibration – not a new sensor."

Ford Focus ADAS Calibration — FAQ

Common questions about calibrating ADAS systems on the Ford Focus

Yes. The Focus Mk3 (2014–2018) has Pre-Collision Assist and Lane-Keeping Alert that rely on a windscreen-mounted camera. After windscreen replacement or a front-end collision, these systems require recalibration — the same as the newer Mk4.
