Ford Mustang Mach-E ADAS Calibration

The Mustang Mach-E is the only Ford on UK roads with BlueCruise – Ford's Level 2+ hands-free highway driving system. That means it carries more cameras and radar sensors than any other Ford model, and every one of them needs precision calibration after a repair. If your Mach-E's BlueCruise, Pre-Collision Assist, or lane centring has stopped working after bodywork or a windscreen replacement, the sensor array needs recalibrating.

ADAS Systems on the Mustang Mach-E

The Mustang Mach-E (2021+) runs Ford's most advanced sensor suite, built around the BlueCruise platform:

  • BlueCruise – Ford's Level 2+ hands-free highway driving system. Uses a driver-facing infrared camera to monitor attention, plus forward-facing sensors for steering, braking, and distance management. Available on pre-mapped UK motorway sections.
  • Pre-Collision Assist with AEB and Intersection Assist – the Mach-E extends standard AEB with intersection detection. The forward radar sits behind a panel in the front fascia – no traditional grille on this EV.
  • Adaptive Cruise Control with Stop & Go and Lane Centring – full highway driving assist using radar and camera together.
  • Lane-Keeping System with Lane-Centring – actively steers within lane markings via the windscreen-mounted camera.
  • BLIS with Cross-Traffic Alert – rear bumper radar sensors for blind spot monitoring.
  • 360-Degree Camera – multiple cameras around the vehicle for parking and low-speed manoeuvring.

Key difference from other Fords: The Mach-E has no front grille – the forward radar mounts behind a dedicated panel in the front bumper fascia. This means even minor cosmetic bumper work can disturb the radar position, making calibration essential after any front-end repair.

Mustang Mach-E – Common ADAS Triggers

After front bumper repair

Without a traditional grille, the Mach-E's radar sits behind the smooth front panel. Body shops unfamiliar with EV-specific sensor placement may not realise the radar has shifted during a repair. If BlueCruise or Pre-Collision Assist shows faults after bodywork, radar recalibration is the fix.

After windscreen replacement

The forward camera behind the windscreen controls Lane-Keeping, lane centring for BlueCruise, and Traffic Sign Recognition. Windscreen companies replacing glass on a Mach-E face a more demanding calibration than on a standard Ford – the camera feeds into BlueCruise's hands-free system, so precision tolerances are tighter. Check our windscreen replacement ADAS guide for what to expect.

The Mach-E's BlueCruise system depends on both radar and camera working in concert. After a collision that disturbed multiple sensors, our £499 Full System Reset covers every ADAS sensor – radar, cameras, blind spot, and 360-degree system – in one appointment.

Ford Mustang Mach-E ADAS Calibration — FAQ

Common questions about calibrating ADAS systems on the Ford Mustang Mach-E

BlueCruise uses the same forward radar and windscreen camera as Co-Pilot360, but with tighter tolerances because it controls hands-free driving. After any repair that disturbs the radar or camera, BlueCruise must be recalibrated alongside standard ADAS functions. Our IMI-certified technicians use OEM-grade equipment for BlueCruise specifications.
