Ford Puma ADAS Calibration

Your Ford Puma's windscreen was replaced – and now Lane-Keeping is off, Traffic Sign Recognition has disappeared, and the dashboard is lit up with warnings. The forward camera behind the rearview mirror controls all of these systems, and it cannot be calibrated by most windscreen companies. We handle the recalibration they could not finish.

Kerb strikes are the second most common trigger. If the Puma has hit a kerb hard enough to need new tyres and wheel alignment, ADAS calibration is the next step – not optional. Wheel alignment corrects the vehicle's geometry, but the forward camera uses that geometry as its reference baseline. After alignment work, the camera needs recalibrating to the corrected position.

ADAS Systems on the Ford Puma

The Puma (2019+) is built on Ford's B2 platform – shared with the Fiesta – but carries significantly more ADAS technology than its smaller sibling:

  • Pre-Collision Assist with AEB and Pedestrian Detection – forward camera and radar detect hazards ahead. The radar sits behind the Ford badge on the front grille.
  • Adaptive Cruise Control with Stop & Go – available on mid-range and above trims. Uses the front-mounted radar for distance keeping.
  • Lane-Keeping System with Lane-Centring – the windscreen camera tracks lane markings and actively steers the vehicle back into lane. More advanced than the Fiesta's basic Lane-Keeping Alert.
  • BLIS (Blind Spot Information System) – rear bumper radar sensors cover adjacent lanes during motorway driving and cross-traffic during reversing.
  • Active Park Assist – ultrasonic sensors for semi-automated parking.

The Puma sits between the Fiesta (basic ADAS) and the Kuga (full Co-Pilot360 with Evasive Steering). Its sensor layout matches the Kuga for radar and camera positioning – front grille radar, windscreen camera – but without Evasive Steering Assist.

Common ADAS Triggers for Puma Owners

After windscreen replacement

The Puma's windscreen-mounted camera is the most common calibration trigger. Stone chips on A-roads lead to windscreen replacements, and companies like Autoglass replace the glass but often can't recalibrate the camera. Lane-Keeping, Traffic Sign Recognition, and the camera side of Pre-Collision Assist all go dark until the camera is recalibrated.

After bumper or parking damage

The Puma is a compact crossover – tight parking spaces mean the front and rear bumpers take hits. The front grille radar and rear BLIS sensors can shift from even minor contact. If your parking sensors or cruise control stopped working after a scrape, sensor recalibration is likely what's needed.

"Compact crossovers like the Ford Puma often need calibration after windscreen replacement – the camera behind the mirror controls Lane-Keeping, Traffic Sign Recognition, and part of the emergency braking system."

Ford Puma ADAS Calibration — FAQ

Common questions about calibrating ADAS systems on the Ford Puma

No. The Puma shares the B2 platform with the Fiesta but has more ADAS systems. The Puma gets Adaptive Cruise Control, Lane-Centring, BLIS, and Active Park Assist — the Fiesta Mk8 only had basic Pre-Collision Assist and Lane-Keeping Alert. More sensors means more calibration points after repairs. We also calibrate the Ford Fiesta and all other Ford models.
