Hyundai IONIQ 7 ADAS Calibration

The Hyundai IONIQ 7 is Hyundai's flagship electric SUV – the largest vehicle on the E-GMP platform, sitting above the IONIQ 5 and IONIQ 6 in both size and ADAS capability. It carries Hyundai's most advanced SmartSense configuration, including Highway Driving Assist 2 and an expanded sensor array that reflects its three-row SUV proportions. When those sensors are disturbed by bodywork or a windscreen swap, we recalibrate them at 70+ UK workshops.

SmartSense Systems on the Hyundai IONIQ 7

The IONIQ 7 (2025+) launches on the E-GMP electric platform with Hyundai's flagship SmartSense package. Its larger body carries more sensors than any other Hyundai.

  • Highway Driving Assist (HDA) 2 – Hyundai's top semi-autonomous system combining Smart Cruise Control, Lane Following Assist, and lane-change assist for motorway driving. Camera and radar must be precisely synchronised.
  • Forward Collision-Avoidance Assist (FCA) 2.0 – camera-plus-radar AEB with pedestrian, cyclist, junction, and oncoming vehicle detection. Evasive steering assist included.
  • Smart Cruise Control (SCC) with Stop & Go – radar-based adaptive cruise with regenerative braking integration.
  • Lane Following Assist (LFA) – active lane centring feeding into HDA 2. Camera-dependent.
  • Blind-Spot Collision-Avoidance Assist (BCA) – rear-quarter radar with active steering intervention.
  • Rear Cross-Traffic Collision-Avoidance Assist (RCCA) – crossing traffic detection when reversing.
  • Surround View Monitor (SVM) – four cameras for 360-degree parking view.
  • Remote Smart Parking Assist (RSPA) 2 – automated parking and unparking via key fob or app.

Large SUV sensor spread: The IONIQ 7's three-row body means sensors are spread across a longer wheelbase and wider body than the IONIQ 5 or IONIQ 6. The rear BCA radar sensors sit further back, the Surround View cameras span a larger perimeter, and parking sensors cover more surface area. A collision affecting the rear quarter of an IONIQ 7 can disturb sensors that would be untouched on a smaller vehicle.

When Your IONIQ 7 Needs ADAS Calibration

After Front-End Repair or Collision

The IONIQ 7's front radar is mounted in the lower bumper fascia, consistent with E-GMP architecture. The SUV's wider front end means body panel work extends across more surface area – and the radar can be displaced even when the point of impact is to the side of the sensor. FCA, SCC, and HDA 2 all deactivate when this radar shifts.

After Windscreen Replacement

HDA 2, LFA, FCA (camera element), and Traffic Sign Recognition depend on the windscreen camera. The IONIQ 7's large SUV windscreen makes it a frequent target for motorway stone damage. After replacement, camera calibration is required before these systems reactivate. The IONIQ 7's newer platform may not be in every glass company's calibration system yet.

After Rear Bodywork or Tow Bar Fitting

The IONIQ 7 is expected to have competitive towing capability for an EV SUV. Tow bar installation or rear collision repairs can disturb BCA radar, RCCA sensors, and the rear Surround View camera. If blind spot warnings, parking assistance, or remote parking stopped working after rear-end work, those sensors need recalibrating.

Hyundai IONIQ 7 Calibration Pricing

ServicePrice
Windscreen Calibration£199
Radar/Sensor Calibration£349
Collision Calibration£349
Full System Reset£499

The IONIQ 7's extensive sensor array means collisions often affect multiple systems. If both front radar and windscreen camera were disturbed, our £349 Collision Calibration covers them. For impacts that also displaced surround cameras, BCA radar, or parking sensors, the £499 Full System Reset recalibrates the complete suite.

Hyundai IONIQ 7 ADAS Calibration — FAQ

Common questions about calibrating ADAS systems on the Hyundai IONIQ 7

Both share the E-GMP platform, but the IONIQ 7 carries more sensors due to its larger body — additional parking sensors, wider-spaced BCA radar, and Remote Smart Parking Assist 2. Front radar and camera calibration procedures are similar, but the rear sensor calibration is IONIQ 7-specific. We handle both models at any of our 70+ UK workshops.
