ADAS Calibration for Jaecoo models

Twenty-one ADAS functions on an SUV that costs under £30,000 - that's the Jaecoo J7. It arrived in UK showrooms in December 2024, earned a Euro NCAP 5-star rating, and now sits in body shops where technicians have never seen Chery-derived diagnostic software. If your Jaecoo needs ADAS calibration after a repair, we're one of the few independent providers equipped to handle it. From £199, at 70+ UK workshops.

Jaecoo ADAS Calibration Cost

Calibration costs depend on your specific Jaecoo model, which ADAS systems need recalibration, and whether mobile or workshop service is required.

Every Jaecoo model has different ADAS sensors fitted depending on trim level and year. Share your registration and we’ll confirm exactly which systems need calibration.

What Jaecoo ADAS Calibration Involves

The three most common calibration scenarios for Jaecoo vehicles — each linked to a dedicated service page.

£199 Starting price

Windscreen Camera Recalibration

Every Jaecoo with a forward-facing camera — including models with Lane Departure Warning, Traffic Sign Recognition, and Autonomous Emergency Braking — requires camera recalibration after windscreen replacement. This is the most common Jaecoo ADAS job we carry out.

Radar & Sensor Alignment

Jaecoo models fitted with Adaptive Cruise Control, Blind Spot Detection, or Rear Cross Traffic Alert carry radar modules behind the bumper or grille. Any bodywork repair or bumper removal requires sensor recalibration using manufacturer-specific targets and procedures.

Post-Collision Full Check

After any collision repair involving a Jaecoo, multiple ADAS sensors may be disturbed simultaneously — including cameras, radar modules, and parking sensors. A comprehensive post-collision calibration restores every system to factory tolerances and satisfies insurer documentation requirements.

Jaecoo ADAS Systems We Calibrate

Jaecoo uses standard ADAS terminology - no proprietary suite branding - but packs an unusually high number of functions for its price point. Here's the full list:

  • Automatic Emergency Braking (AEB) - forward collision prevention with pedestrian and cyclist detection
  • Front Collision Warning (FCW) - audible and visual alert ahead of AEB intervention
  • Rear Collision Warning (RCW) - alerts to vehicles approaching rapidly from behind
  • Adaptive Cruise Control (ACC) - radar-based adaptive cruise from motorway to stop-and-go speeds
  • Traffic Jam Assist (TJA) - semi-autonomous driving in slow traffic, combining ACC and lane keeping
  • Integrated Cruise Assist (ICA) - Level 2 highway assist combining cruise and lane centring
  • Lane Departure Warning (LDW) and Lane Departure Prevention (LDP) - warns and actively steers back into lane
  • Lane Change Assist (LCA) - monitors adjacent lanes during lane changes
  • Emergency Lane Keeping (ELK) - corrective steering when the vehicle is about to leave the road
  • Intelligent Evasion System - assists with emergency avoidance manoeuvres
  • Blind Spot Detection (BSD) - detects vehicles in adjacent lanes
  • Rear Cross Traffic Alert (RCTA) and Rear Cross Traffic Braking (RCTB) - warns and actively brakes when reversing into cross traffic
  • Driver Monitoring System (DMS) - cabin-facing camera with facial recognition tracking driver attention
  • Door Opening Warning (DOW) - warns passengers of approaching traffic before opening doors

The forward-facing camera sits behind the windscreen. The front radar is integrated into the bumper and grille. A rear radar in the rear bumper powers RCW, RCTA, and RCTB. Side sensors in the rear quarters handle BSD and LCA. When any of these sensors is displaced - by a windscreen replacement, bumper repair, or collision - the connected functions lose accuracy.

When Your Jaecoo Needs ADAS Recalibration

After Front Bumper Repair or Collision

The front radar powering ACC, AEB, and FCW sits behind the Jaecoo's bumper and grille. Even cosmetic front-end work that requires bumper removal can shift the radar alignment. If Adaptive Cruise Control or the collision warning system stopped working after bodywork, the radar needs recalibration.

After Rear Bumper Repair

The Jaecoo's RCTB is not just a warning - it actively brakes the vehicle when reversing into detected traffic. The rear radar in the rear bumper powers this system alongside RCTA and RCW. If the rear bumper was repaired or replaced, these safety-critical active systems need recalibration. A miscalibrated RCTB could brake unexpectedly or fail to activate when needed.

After Windscreen Replacement

The forward camera behind the windscreen drives Lane Departure Prevention, Emergency Lane Keeping, AEB, and the Intelligent Evasion System. When the glass is replaced, the camera must be recalibrated - a procedure your windscreen fitter may not have the tools for on a brand this new to the UK market.

No Repair, But Warnings Appearing

A Jaecoo J7 owner recently contacted us with ACC and BSD warnings that appeared with no recent repair history. The vehicle was only months old, and the dealer attributed the faults to a software update. A diagnostic scan revealed the front radar had drifted slightly out of specification - a single calibration appointment cleared every warning.

Jaecoo Models - Full ADAS Calibration Coverage

The J7 is Jaecoo's UK launch model - a compact SUV on the T1X platform with the full 21-function ADAS suite, available as both ICE and PHEV. The J8 is the larger flagship, sharing identical ADAS hardware on the same T1X platform with CDC (Continuously Damping Control) suspension that adds its own sensor network.
