DriveWise Systems on the Kia Seltos

The Seltos (second generation, 2023+) received a major ADAS upgrade over the first generation, bringing it in line with the Sportage's DriveWise capability:

• Forward Collision-Avoidance Assist (FCA) – camera and radar fusion detecting vehicles, pedestrians, and cyclists. Standard across all UK trims.
• Smart Cruise Control (SCC) with Stop & Go – radar-based adaptive cruise. The sensor sits behind the Kia emblem on the front bumper.
• Lane Following Assist (LFA) – active lane centring using camera and radar data. Goes beyond basic LKA with smoother, more confident steering input.
• Lane Keeping Assist (LKA) – windscreen camera detects lane markings and applies corrective steering.
• Blind-Spot Collision-Avoidance Assist (BCA) – rear-quarter radar sensors with active intervention on higher trims.
• Highway Driving Assist (HDA) – combines SCC and LFA for semi-autonomous motorway driving on equipped models.

The first-generation Seltos (2019-2023) had a simpler DriveWise package – basic FCA and LKA without SCC or LFA. Calibration requirements differ between generations, and our equipment covers both.

When Your Kia Seltos Needs Calibration

After front bumper repair or collision – the Seltos' front radar behind the Kia emblem controls SCC, FCA, and the distance component of HDA. Bumper replacement, front-end collision repair, or emblem removal shifts the sensor. Dashboard warnings for SCC and FCA appear immediately until radar recalibration is completed.

After windscreen replacement – LFA, LKA, and the camera component of FCA depend on the windscreen-mounted camera. Every windscreen swap requires camera calibration – and if your Seltos has Highway Driving Assist, it won't engage until the camera is recalibrated.

After rear-end damage – if your Seltos has BCA, the rear-quarter radar sensors need recalibration after rear bumper work or reversing collisions. Blind-spot detection stays offline until the sensors are professionally realigned.

If your Seltos's Smart Cruise Control stopped working after bumper work, radar calibration at £349 is the fix – including diagnostic scan and certificate. Kia's 7-year warranty makes proper calibration even more important for maintaining coverage on DriveWise components.
