Lotus Eletre ADAS Calibration

The Lotus Eletre has deployable LiDAR sensors that physically pop out from the wheel fenders – a world first on any production car. When those housings are disturbed by body panel repair, paintwork, or collision damage, you face a calibration challenge that no other vehicle on UK roads presents. Add 11 cameras, multiple radars, and dual NVIDIA Orin X processors, and the Eletre becomes one of the most calibration-intensive vehicles we handle.

ADAS Systems on Your Lotus Eletre

The Eletre runs Lotus Intelligent Driving – the Level 2+ system powered by dual NVIDIA Orin X chips delivering over 500 TOPS:

  • Highway Assist – hands-free motorway driving with lane centring and adaptive speed
  • Intelligent Adaptive Cruise Control (i-ACC) – LiDAR, radar, and camera fusion for following distance management
  • Automatic Emergency Braking (AEB) – multi-sensor collision prevention
  • Lane Keeping Assist (LKA) and Lane Change Assist (LCA) – camera-guided lane management
  • Blind Spot Monitoring (BSM) and Rear Cross Traffic Alert (RCTA) – rear-quarter sensor coverage
  • 360° HD Surround View – multi-camera parking system
  • Driver Monitoring System (DMS) – cabin-facing infrared camera
  • Deployable LiDAR – Hesai AT128 128-channel hybrid solid-state units in the front wheel fender housings

The Eletre carries up to 33 sensors total. The deployable LiDAR physically extends during driving and retracts when parked – any change to the housing geometry from a fender repair shifts the sensor alignment.

When Your Lotus Eletre Needs Recalibration

After Fender or Body Panel Repair

This is the Eletre's unique calibration trigger. The deployable LiDAR sensors sit in the front wheel fender housings. Any fender repair, respray requiring panel removal, or collision affecting the front wheel arch area can shift the LiDAR housings. A body shop unfamiliar with deployable LiDAR will not know to check this – bring the car to a specialist.

After Windscreen Replacement

The forward cameras behind the windscreen power AEB, lane keeping, and Intelligent Driving features. Standard windscreen calibration applies – but on the Eletre, the sheer number of interconnected systems means a single camera offset cascades across multiple functions.

After Bumper Repair

The front bumper houses radar sensors powering i-ACC and AEB. Rear bumper work affects RCTA and rear parking sensors. Any bumper repair on either end should include radar recalibration.

Lotus Eletre ADAS Calibration — FAQ

Common questions about calibrating ADAS systems on the Lotus Eletre

The Eletre's Hesai AT128 LiDAR sensors physically extend from housings in the front wheel fenders during driving and retract when parked. This pop-out mechanism is a world first. If the fender panels or housings are disturbed, the sensors deploy at the wrong angle — requiring specialist recalibration.
