Maserati Ghibli ADAS Calibration

The Ghibli was Maserati's volume sedan – the car that brought the brand to a wider audience. Now being phased out, thousands remain on UK roads with ADAS systems that need servicing after bodywork. If your Ghibli's Adaptive Cruise Control stopped working after a front grille repair, the radar behind the Trident badge has shifted and needs recalibration.

ADAS Systems on Your Maserati Ghibli

The Ghibli (2013–2023) evolved its ADAS over its production run:

  • Adaptive Cruise Control with Stop & Go – front radar behind the Trident badge on the grille
  • Automatic Emergency Braking (AEB) – forward collision mitigation using radar and camera
  • Forward Collision Warning Plus (FCW+) – visual and audible alert before AEB activates
  • Lane Departure Warning (LDW) – alerts when the car crosses lane markings
  • Blind Spot Assist – rear-quarter sensors monitoring adjacent lanes
  • Rear Cross Traffic Alert (RCTA) – rear sensors for reversing safety
  • Surround View Camera System – four cameras for bird's-eye parking (later models)
  • Traffic Sign Recognition (TSR) – camera-based speed limit detection

Later Ghibli models (2018+ facelift) received enhanced ADAS with the Highway Assist System. Earlier models have a more basic configuration. The front radar consistently sits behind the Trident badge on the grille across all production years.

When Your Ghibli Needs ADAS Calibration

After grille or front bumper repair: The Ghibli's front radar hides behind the iconic Trident badge. A grille swap, bumper respray, or front-end repair shifts the radar – disabling ACC, AEB, and FCW+ simultaneously. If cruise control stopped working after body shop work, the radar needs recalibration.

After windscreen replacement: The forward camera controls LDW, TSR, and contributes to AEB. A windscreen replacement shifts the camera from its factory position – recalibration is mandatory.

On a used or Cat S/N Ghibli: The Ghibli's depreciation curve means many are now entering the used and salvage market at accessible prices. If ADAS warnings are active on a recently purchased Ghibli, the sensors may have been displaced during a previous repair and never recalibrated.
