ADAS Systems on the Mazda 6

The Mazda 6 (2013-2023) uses a windscreen-mounted i-Activsense camera and a front radar for Mazda Radar Cruise Control (MRCC). Smart Brake Support handles higher-speed AEB through the radar; Smart City Brake Support (SCBS) uses a laser sensor for low-speed city scenarios on earlier models, while later Mazda 6 variants moved to a camera-based SCBS system. Blind Spot Monitoring (BSM) uses radar sensors in the rear bumper.

When Does the Mazda 6 Need ADAS Calibration?

  • After windscreen replacement - i-Activsense camera recalibration required. SCBS laser (early) or camera (late) also affected.
  • After front bumper work - MRCC radar realignment required.
  • After rear bumper work - BSM rear sensors require recalibration.
  • After a front collision - full forward sensor check and recalibration.
