Mercedes eSprinter ADAS Calibration

A warning light appeared on your Mercedes eSprinter dashboard after the delivery bay scraped the front bumper – and now Active Brake Assist is disabled. The eSprinter is Mercedes's electric large van, sharing ADAS hardware with the combustion Sprinter but adding the same sensor sensitivity to an all-electric commercial vehicle. For fleet operators running electric delivery routes, an eSprinter with disabled safety systems is a vehicle that shouldn't be on the road.

ADAS Systems on the Mercedes eSprinter

The current eSprinter (VS30 electric, 2024+ for next-gen / 2019+ for first-gen) carries the same ADAS as the diesel Sprinter:

  • Active Brake Assist – automatic emergency braking using front radar and camera. Critical for a vehicle of this size.
  • DISTRONIC (next-gen, 2024+) – adaptive cruise control via front radar behind the star badge.
  • Lane Keeping Assist – camera-based lane detection using the camera behind the upright windscreen.
  • Blind Spot Assist – rear-mounted radar sensors for lane change safety.
  • Traffic Sign Assist – camera reads speed limits and road signs.
  • ATTENTION ASSIST – drowsiness detection for long-shift drivers.

The eSprinter's upright windscreen positions the forward camera higher and at a steeper angle than on Mercedes passenger cars. The front radar sits behind the star badge on the flat front panel.

When Your Mercedes eSprinter Needs ADAS Calibration

After Front-End Collisions and Loading Bay Contact

Commercial vans take front-end knocks during daily operations – loading bays, warehouse bollards, tight depot entries. Even cosmetic bumper damage can shift the radar behind the star badge. If Active Brake Assist or DISTRONIC disables, radar calibration is needed before the eSprinter returns to service.

After Windscreen Replacement

The eSprinter's large, flat windscreen catches road debris at motorway speeds. Replacement is more frequent than on smaller vehicles. The forward camera controlling Lane Keeping Assist, Traffic Sign Assist, and AEB input needs recalibrating after every windscreen swap.

Fleet Downtime Management

Electric van fleets operate on tight schedules. An eSprinter showing ADAS warnings needs prompt calibration – not just for safety compliance, but to keep the vehicle earning. We offer mobile calibration for fleet operators who need vehicles calibrated at the depot.

Mercedes eSprinter ADAS Calibration — FAQ

Common questions about calibrating ADAS systems on the Mercedes eSprinter

Yes. The eSprinter and diesel Sprinter share identical ADAS sensor hardware — same radar position, same forward camera, same ultrasonic sensors. The electric drivetrain doesn't affect ADAS calibration. Procedures and fixed pricing are the same.
