Does the MG4 EV have Blind Spot Detection?

The standard MG4 EV does not include BSD — its MG Pilot package focuses on front-facing systems (AEB, ACC, LKA, TJA, ISLA). The HS and ZS add BSD and RCTA. If your MG4 EV has blind spot warnings, it may be a higher-specification variant — contact us to confirm.

Is the MG4 EV's Bosch radar the same as other MGs?

Yes. MG uses the same Bosch front radar module across its range. The MG4 EV's radar behind the grille is the same unit fitted to the MG3 Hybrid+, HS, and ZS. Calibration equipment and procedures are compatible. We also calibrate the MG5 EV.

Why Your MG4 EV Might Need MG Pilot Calibration

After windscreen replacement – the most common trigger: The MG4's forward camera controls LKA, LDW, and ISLA. A new windscreen shifts the camera – all three systems go offline until recalibrated. This is our £199 service and the most frequent MG4 EV calibration request.

After front bumper repair: The Bosch radar behind the grille powers ACC, AEB, and TJA. Parking scrapes, minor front-end collisions, and grille replacements all shift the radar. If ACC is not maintaining distance after bodywork, the radar needs recalibration.

After buying a used or Cat S/N MG4 EV: The MG4 EV's popularity on the used market – boosted by its award recognition – means many are being sold after previous repairs.
