What about the ZS EV?

The ZS EV is the fully electric variant with a slightly different MG Pilot specification — it adds Traffic Jam Assist. The ZS EV is being replaced by the MG S5 EV, but existing ZS EVs will need calibration for years. Our equipment covers both variants.

Can my independent garage calibrate MG Pilot on the ZS?

MG Pilot calibration requires VDS2 or compatible professional diagnostics. Most independent garages have not yet invested in MG-specific tooling because the brand has grown so rapidly. Our IMI-certified technicians carry the right equipment for MG Pilot calibration across all models. We also calibrate the MG HS and MG4 EV.

The MG ZS registered over 9,000 units in Q1 2025 alone – making it one of the highest-volume compact SUVs on UK roads. Every ZS carries MG Pilot with a Bosch front radar and windscreen camera. If your ZS's Adaptive Cruise Control stopped working after a bumper repair or Lane Keep Assist went offline after a windscreen replacement, the sensors need recalibration with MG-compatible diagnostic equipment.

The ZS (2020+, petrol and hybrid variants) carries the MG Pilot suite:

Active Emergency Braking (AEB) – Bosch front radar and camera detecting vehicles and pedestrians
Adaptive Cruise Control (ACC) – Bosch radar module behind the front grille
Lane Keep Assist (LKA) and Lane Departure Warning (LDW) – windscreen camera behind the rearview mirror

The ZS Hybrid+ (2024+) adds a mild-hybrid powertrain but retains the same MG Pilot sensor configuration. The Bosch front radar module sits behind the front grille – the same hardware used in VW, BMW, and Mercedes vehicles.

Why Your MG ZS Might Need MG Pilot Calibration

After front bumper repair: The ZS is the compact SUV that does everything – school runs, commuting, weekend trips. Front bumper contacts from car parks and urban driving are common. The Bosch radar behind the grille powers ACC and AEB – a single parking knock can disable both.

After windscreen replacement: The forward camera controls LKA, LDW, and contributes to AEB. A new windscreen shifts the camera alignment. Static recalibration is mandatory – our £199 service restores all camera-dependent MG Pilot functions.

After rear-end bodywork: BSD sensors in the rear quarters and RCTA sensors in the rear bumper need realignment after rear-end repairs. If Blind Spot Detection has stopped working or RCTA no longer warns when reversing, the sensors need recalibration.
