Nissan Ariya ADAS Calibration

Nissan built the Ariya with ProPILOT Assist 2.0 – the most sensor-dense ADAS package in the Nissan range. Five radar units, twelve ultrasonic sensors, and multiple cameras give the Ariya hands-off highway driving capability on compatible roads. That sensor density means any bodywork repair – front, rear, or side – has a higher chance of disturbing at least one ADAS component than on simpler models like the Micra or Note.

ADAS Systems on the Nissan Ariya

The Ariya (2022–present) launched with Nissan's most advanced Intelligent Mobility suite:

  • ProPILOT Assist 2.0 – hands-off highway driving on compatible roads, using front radar, windscreen camera, and surround radar data simultaneously. Available on Evolve+ and above.
  • Intelligent Emergency Braking (IEB) with intersection support – detects vehicles, pedestrians, and cyclists, including cross-traffic at junctions
  • Intelligent Cruise Control (ICC) – standard ProPILOT on base trims, ProPILOT 2.0 on higher
  • Lane Departure Warning (LDW) and Intelligent Lane Intervention – camera-based, with active steering correction
  • Blind Spot Intervention (BSI) – not just a warning but active steering if you try to change lane into an occupied blind spot
  • Rear Cross-Traffic Alert (RCTA) with braking – automatically stops if a vehicle is detected crossing behind while reversing
  • Intelligent Around View Monitor (AVM) with Moving Object Detection (MOD) – standard on most trims

The front radar sits behind the Nissan badge. Side radars are integrated into the front and rear bumper corners. The windscreen camera is behind the rearview mirror. The AVM uses four cameras: front grille, both door mirrors, and the tailgate.

Nissan Ariya – When Calibration Is Needed

After Collision or Bodywork Repair

The Ariya's sensor spread across front, sides, and rear means that collision damage to almost any panel can affect an ADAS component. Front-end impacts disturb the main radar and camera. Side impacts can shift the BSI sensors in the bumper corners. Rear-end damage affects RCTA and the reversing radar. After collision repair, a multi-point ADAS recalibration ensures every sensor returns to factory alignment.

After Windscreen Replacement

ProPILOT 2.0 depends heavily on the windscreen camera for lane positioning and traffic detection. After glass replacement, the camera must be recalibrated with OEM-grade targets to restore hands-off driving capability. Without calibration, ProPILOT may refuse to engage or operate with reduced functionality – the system won't allow hands-off mode if camera confidence is below threshold.

Blind Spot Intervention – More Than a Warning

Unlike standard BSW on the Qashqai or X-Trail, the Ariya's Blind Spot Intervention actively steers the vehicle back if you attempt a lane change into an occupied blind spot. If a side impact or mirror replacement shifts the side radar sensors, BSI recalibration is essential – an uncalibrated BSI could intervene at the wrong moment or fail to intervene when needed.

Nissan Ariya Calibration Pricing

ServicePrice
Windscreen Calibration£199
Radar/Sensor Calibration£349
Collision Calibration£349
Full System Reset£499

Ariya owners dealing with multiple sensor faults after a collision – front radar, side BSI, and rear RCTA – benefit from our £499 Full System Reset, which covers all ADAS systems plus diagnostic clearing. For single-zone issues like a windscreen camera after glass replacement, the £199 calibration applies.

Nissan Ariya ADAS Calibration — FAQ

Common questions about calibrating ADAS systems on the Nissan Ariya

ProPILOT 2.0 is Nissan's most advanced highway driving system — it allows hands-off driving on compatible roads by combining front radar, windscreen camera, and GPS navigation data. It can handle lane changes and overtaking with driver supervision. Both the radar and camera must be precisely calibrated for the system to offer hands-off capability.
