Renault Arkana ADAS Calibration

Renault calls it Highway & Traffic Jam Companion – the Arkana's Level 2 semi-autonomous system that combines Adaptive Cruise Control with active lane centring. For it to work, both the front radar and windscreen camera must be calibrated to manufacturer specification. If either sensor is disturbed after a repair, the entire system disengages. ADAS Line calibrates all Renault Arkana ADAS systems from £199 at 70+ UK workshops.

ADAS Systems on Your Renault Arkana

The Arkana carries Renault's full EASY DRIVE suite – the most advanced ADAS package in the Renault range. Every system relies on either the front radar (behind the bumper emblem) or the windscreen-mounted camera:

  • Highway & Traffic Jam Companion – Renault's Level 2 system combining ACC with lane centring. Requires BOTH radar and camera to be correctly calibrated. Available on R.S. Line and Techno trims.
  • Active Emergency Braking (AEB) – radar-based, standard on all Arkana models. Detects vehicles and pedestrians at speed.
  • Adaptive Cruise Control (ACC) – radar-based distance management. Standard or optional depending on trim.
  • Lane Keeping Assist (LKA) – active steering correction using the windscreen camera. Works with LDW.
  • Lane Departure Warning (LDW) – camera-based, alerts when drifting without indicating.
  • Blind Spot Warning (BSW) – rear-quarter radar sensors on mid-to-high trims.
  • Traffic Sign Recognition (TSR) – camera-dependent, reads and displays speed limits.

The Arkana launched in the UK in 2021, so all UK models have this full ADAS configuration – no pre-ADAS generations to worry about.

Common Calibration Triggers for the Renault Arkana

After windscreen replacement – the forward camera behind the rearview mirror controls LKA, LDW, TSR, and the lane centring component of Highway & Traffic Jam Companion. A new windscreen means the camera position has shifted, and all camera-dependent systems stay disabled until recalibrated. Because the Arkana relies on camera data for its Level 2 driving, the impact of skipping calibration is more noticeable than on simpler models.

After front bumper or collision repair – the radar sensor behind the Renault emblem controls AEB, ACC, and the distance-keeping component of Highway & Traffic Jam Companion. Bodywork that shifts the bumper – even by millimetres – throws radar aim off. The result can be phantom braking, ACC refusing to engage, or emergency braking warnings appearing without cause.

After both radar and camera disruption – if the Arkana was involved in a frontal collision, both sensors are likely affected. When Highway & Traffic Jam Companion shows as unavailable after a repair, both the radar and camera typically need recalibrating. Our Full System Reset covers this.

Renault Arkana Calibration Pricing

ServicePrice
Windscreen Calibration£199
Radar/Sensor Calibration£349
Collision Calibration£349
Full System Reset£499

For Arkana owners whose Highway & Traffic Jam Companion disengaged after a frontal repair, radar calibration at £349 is typically what's needed – the camera often self-calibrates once the radar is correctly aligned.

Renault Arkana ADAS Calibration — FAQ

Common questions about calibrating ADAS systems on the Renault Arkana

Highway & Traffic Jam Companion depends on both the front radar and windscreen camera working in sync. If either sensor was disturbed during a repair — bumper work affects the radar, windscreen replacement affects the camera — the system won't engage until both are correctly calibrated.
