Renault Scenic E-Tech ADAS Calibration

The Renault Scenic E-Tech is no longer an MPV – the fourth generation (2024+) is a fully electric crossover built on the CMF-EV platform, the same architecture as the Megane E-Tech. It carries the most advanced version of Renault's EASY DRIVE suite, including Highway & Traffic Jam Companion for Level 2 semi-autonomous driving. Both the front radar and windscreen camera must be calibrated to exact manufacturer tolerances for the system chain to function. From £199 at 70+ UK workshops.

ADAS Systems on Your Renault Scenic E-Tech

The Scenic E-Tech shares its CMF-EV platform with the Megane E-Tech but sits on a longer wheelbase with a taller body. All UK models come with the full EASY DRIVE suite:

  • Highway & Traffic Jam Companion – Renault's Level 2 system combining ACC with lane centring. Both radar and camera must be calibrated for it to engage. Available on Techno and Iconic trims.
  • Active Emergency Braking (AEB) – radar and camera fusion detecting vehicles, pedestrians, and cyclists. Standard across all trims.
  • Adaptive Cruise Control (ACC) – radar-based speed and distance management. The sensor is behind the front bumper panel.
  • Lane Keeping Assist (LKA) – windscreen camera provides active steering correction to keep the vehicle centred in the lane.
  • Lane Departure Warning (LDW) – camera-based alerts for unintended lane departure.
  • Blind Spot Warning (BSW) – rear-quarter radar sensors monitoring adjacent lanes.
  • Rear Cross Traffic Alert (RCTA) – rear radar detects crossing vehicles when reversing from parking.
  • Traffic Sign Recognition (TSR) – camera-dependent speed limit display.

The Scenic E-Tech's larger body compared to the Megane E-Tech means the blind-spot sensors are positioned further apart, affecting rear calibration parameters.

When Your Renault Scenic E-Tech Needs Calibration

After front bumper repair or collision – the radar sensor behind the bumper panel controls AEB, ACC, and the distance component of Highway & Traffic Jam Companion. Any front-end bodywork that shifts the bumper – from minor parking damage to major collision repair – requires radar recalibration. Without it, cruise control won't engage and AEB warnings persist.

After windscreen replacement – the forward camera behind the rearview mirror handles LKA, LDW, TSR, and the lane centring function of Highway & Traffic Jam Companion. A new windscreen displaces the camera mounting point. Windscreen calibration is mandatory before these systems re-engage.

After rear-end damage – BSW and RCTA depend on rear-quarter radar sensors. Rear bumper replacement or reversing collision damage can misalign these sensors, disabling blind-spot and cross-traffic alerts.

Renault Scenic E-Tech Calibration Pricing

ServicePrice
Windscreen Calibration£199
Radar/Sensor Calibration£349
Collision Calibration£349
Full System Reset£499

If your Scenic E-Tech's Highway & Traffic Jam Companion has gone offline after bodywork, radar calibration at £349 is the most common fix. When both front and rear sensors are affected after a collision, the £499 Full System Reset covers everything. Check our phantom braking guide if the system is braking for objects that aren't there.

Renault Scenic E-Tech ADAS Calibration — FAQ

Common questions about calibrating ADAS systems on the Renault Scenic E-Tech

No. The Scenic E-Tech (2024+) is a completely new electric crossover on the CMF-EV platform with full EASY DRIVE including Highway & Traffic Jam Companion. The previous Scenic (2016-2022) was an MPV with a more basic ADAS package and no Level 2 capability. Calibration procedures are entirely different between the two. See all Renault models
