Škoda Kodiaq ADAS Calibration

You've had your Kodiaq's front bumper repainted after a car park scrape – and now Front Assist and ACC are both showing as unavailable. The Kodiaq's large front grille houses the same VW Group radar sensor used across the Škoda range, but the SUV's bumper geometry means even professional body shops sometimes refit the bumper with just enough offset to throw the radar out of alignment.

ADAS Systems on Your Škoda Kodiaq

The Kodiaq is Škoda's large SUV, available in both the original NS (2016–2023) and the refreshed Kodiaq II (2024+):

  • Front Assist – Automatic emergency braking using the front radar behind the grille. Standard on all Kodiaq models from launch.
  • ACC (Adaptive Cruise Control) – Standard on Sportline and L&K; optional on SE and SE L. The Kodiaq II adds predictive ACC with speed sign recognition.
  • Lane Assist – Windscreen camera-based lane departure system.
  • Side Assist – Rear radar sensors for blind spot detection.
  • Rear Traffic Alert – Cross-traffic warning when reversing.
  • Area View – 360-degree camera system on higher trims, using four body-mounted cameras.

The Kodiaq II (2024+) adds Travel Assist, combining ACC and Lane Assist – calibration requires synchronised radar and camera alignment.

Why Kodiaq Owners Need ADAS Calibration

After Front Bumper Repair or Repaint

The Kodiaq's front bumper is large – a frequent contact point in car parks. The radar sensor behind the grille is sensitive to even minor shifts in bumper alignment. Body shops that refit the bumper with slightly different clip tension can leave the radar pointing fractionally off-centre – enough to disable ACC and Front Assist.

Towing-Related Sensor Faults

Kodiaq owners frequently tow caravans and trailers. Aftermarket towbar installations can affect the rear bumper's sensor alignment if Rear Traffic Alert or parking sensors are present. Regular towing can also shift ride height over time, affecting front radar calibration angles.

Windscreen Replacement

The Kodiaq's Lane Assist camera sits behind the windscreen. After glass replacement, static windscreen calibration is required – and the Kodiaq's higher windscreen angle compared to a saloon means precise target placement during calibration is critical.

Škoda Kodiaq ADAS Calibration — FAQ

Common questions about calibrating ADAS systems on the Škoda Kodiaq

ADAS level refers to the suite of driver assistance systems fitted to your Kodiaq — including Front Assist, ACC, Lane Assist, and Side Assist. The level varies by trim: the SE has basic Front Assist, while Sportline and L&K models get the full suite including radar-dependent systems and Area View. All levels require calibration after sensor disturbance.
