Toyota Aygo ADAS Calibration

The Toyota Aygo was discontinued in 2022, but hundreds of thousands remain on UK roads – and many carry ADAS features that need recalibration after repairs. Unlike most Toyotas, the Aygo does not run Toyota Safety Sense. It was built on a shared platform with the Peugeot 108 and Citroen C1, meaning its safety systems use different hardware and calibration protocols from the rest of the Toyota range.

ADAS Systems on the Toyota Aygo

The Aygo's ADAS provision is minimal compared to larger Toyotas, and the systems it does carry differ by generation:

First-generation Aygo (2005–2014): No ADAS systems. Pre-dates the technology across all manufacturers at this price point.

Second-generation Aygo (2014–2022): Built on the Toyota B-segment platform shared with Peugeot 108 and Citroen C1. From 2018, higher-spec trims gained:

  • Pre-Collision System – a basic AEB system using a front-mounted sensor. Simpler than the full Pre-Collision System found in Toyota Safety Sense vehicles.
  • Lane Departure Warning – camera-based, using a windscreen-mounted unit behind the rearview mirror.

The Aygo does not have Dynamic Radar Cruise Control, Lane Tracing Assist, or Blind Spot Monitor. Its ADAS is camera-dominant – the windscreen camera handles the primary safety functions available on this model.

When Your Toyota Aygo Needs Calibration

After Windscreen Replacement

The second-generation Aygo's windscreen camera controls both Pre-Collision System and Lane Departure Warning. If your Aygo's windscreen was replaced and safety warnings have appeared on the dashboard, the camera needs recalibration. The Aygo's compact windscreen means even small positional shifts during fitting affect camera alignment.

After Front-End Collision

Low-speed urban impacts are common on city cars. If your Aygo was involved in a front-end collision – even a minor car park bump – any forward-facing sensor may have shifted. A diagnostic scan confirms whether the Pre-Collision System sensor needs collision calibration.

Discontinued but Still Common

The Aygo was one of the UK's best-selling city cars for years. Body shops and windscreen fitters still work on them daily. If you are a windscreen company fitting glass to an Aygo and need the camera recalibrated, we handle it at 70+ workshops across the UK.

Windscreen Calibration£199
Radar/Sensor Calibration£349

Most Aygo owners need windscreen camera calibration – our £199 fixed rate. The Aygo's simpler ADAS configuration means single-sensor calibration covers the primary safety systems on this model.

Toyota Aygo ADAS Calibration — FAQ

Common questions about calibrating ADAS systems on the Toyota Aygo

No. The Aygo was built on a shared platform with the Peugeot 108 and Citroen C1, not Toyota's TNGA architecture. It carries a simpler ADAS package with basic Pre-Collision System and Lane Departure Warning on post-2018 models, but not the full TSS suite found on the Yaris or Corolla. Calibration still requires professional equipment.
