Toyota Yaris ADAS Calibration

Your Toyota Yaris's Dynamic Radar Cruise Control has stopped maintaining distance on the motorway – and it started right after that bumper respray. The front radar behind the Yaris's lower grille is one of the most position-sensitive sensors in the Toyota Safety Sense suite, and even cosmetic bumper work can shift it. We recalibrate Yaris ADAS systems at 70+ UK workshops, from £199.

ADAS Systems on Your Toyota Yaris

The Yaris spans two very different ADAS generations:

Fourth-generation Yaris (XP210, 2020+): Comes standard with Toyota Safety Sense 2.0:

  • Dynamic Radar Cruise Control (DRCC) – full-speed adaptive cruise
  • Pre-Collision System (PCS) – AEB with pedestrian and cyclist detection
  • Lane Departure Alert (LDA) with steering assist
  • Lane Tracing Assist (LTA) – active lane centering
  • Automatic High Beam (AHB)
  • Road Sign Assist (RSA)

Third-generation Yaris (XP130, 2017–2020 facelift): First-generation TSS – Pre-Collision System and Lane Departure Alert only. No DRCC or LTA.

The fourth-gen Yaris is built on the GA-B platform – Toyota's smallest TNGA architecture. The front radar sits lower than on larger Toyotas like the RAV4, positioned in the lower grille area rather than behind the main badge. This lower position makes it more exposed to scrapes and car park impacts that wouldn't affect a taller vehicle's sensors.

Pre-2017 Yaris models generally lack ADAS sensors requiring calibration.

When Your Yaris Needs ADAS Calibration

After Bumper Repair or Respray

The Yaris's compact dimensions put its front radar in the line of fire for everyday impacts – car park barriers, bollards, and low-speed bumps that might not even dent the panel but can shift the radar bracket. If DRCC or PCS deactivates after any front bumper work, radar recalibration is needed.

After Windscreen Replacement

The windscreen camera on the Yaris controls LDA, LTA, AHB, and RSA. After glass replacement, the camera moves enough to trigger false lane warnings or shut down Lane Tracing Assist. If your windscreen company couldn't recalibrate the camera, we complete the calibration they can't.

Error Code B1650

Fault code B1650 is a Toyota-specific code linked to ADAS sensor faults. On the Yaris, it can appear after sensor disturbance from collision, repair, or aftermarket modification. Professional diagnosis confirms the affected sensor, followed by recalibration to factory spec.

Toyota Yaris ADAS Calibration — FAQ

Common questions about calibrating ADAS systems on the Toyota Yaris

Third-gen Yaris models from the 2017 facelift onwards have first-generation Toyota Safety Sense (PCS + LDA) and do need calibration after sensor disturbance. Pre-2017 Yaris models generally don't have ADAS sensors. If your dashboard shows PCS or LDA icons, your Yaris has these systems.
