Volkswagen Taigo ADAS Calibration

VW's Taigo is the brand's first coupe-crossover – built on the same MQB-A0 platform as the Polo and T-Cross but with a sloping roofline that gives it a distinct rear-end profile. That shared platform means Front Assist, ACC, and Lane Assist work identically to its siblings. The difference is the Taigo's lower rear window angle, which changes the geometry for rear parking sensors and any optional rear-facing systems. If your Taigo's ADAS systems have flagged after a repair, we recalibrate them at 70+ UK workshops.

ADAS Systems on the Volkswagen Taigo

The Taigo (CS, 2021+) launched on VW's MQB-A0 small car platform with a consistent ADAS package across trims.

  • Front Assist with Pedestrian and Cyclist Monitoring – AEB via the front radar behind the VW grille badge. Standard on all UK trims.
  • ACC – adaptive cruise control using the same front radar. Standard on Style and R-Line trims.
  • Lane Assist – windscreen-mounted camera for lane departure correction. Standard across all trims.
  • Light Assist – automatic high beam control via the windscreen camera.
  • Park Assist – ultrasonic semi-automated parking. Available on R-Line and above.
  • Rear Traffic Alert – monitors cross traffic when reversing. Available on higher trims.

MQB-A0 note: The Taigo uses the same radar module and camera unit as the Polo and T-Cross. The front radar sits behind the VW badge on the grille – identical location and mounting to its platform siblings. The windscreen camera sits behind the rearview mirror housing.

Why Your VW Taigo Might Need Calibration

After Front Bumper Repair

The Taigo's compact front end means the grille-mounted radar is close to the bumper's contact surface. Urban parking knocks, car park bollard taps, and minor front-end collisions can shift the VW badge and the radar behind it. Front Assist and ACC both deactivate when this sensor moves out of tolerance. A radar recalibration at £349 restores both systems.

After Windscreen Replacement

Lane Assist and the camera element of Front Assist rely on the windscreen camera. The Taigo's windscreen is the same unit as the Polo, but the coupe roofline means the upper edge sits at a slightly different angle. After any glass replacement, camera calibration at £199 is required to restore lane-keeping and visual AEB functions.

Warning Lights Without Visible Damage

The Taigo shares VW Group error code C110300 for ACC radar misalignment. If your dashboard shows "ACC not available" without any recent repair or obvious impact, a minor bump in a car park may have shifted the grille-mounted radar. See our ADAS error code guide for the full list of VW fault codes.

Volkswagen Taigo ADAS Calibration — FAQ

Common questions about calibrating ADAS systems on the Volkswagen Taigo

The Taigo and Polo share the MQB-A0 platform, identical radar hardware, and the same camera unit. The front sensor calibration is equivalent. The rear differs — the Taigo's coupe roofline changes the rear parking sensor geometry. Our technicians apply Taigo-specific targets where needed. We also calibrate the VW T-Cross on the same platform.
