Audi A6 e-tron ADAS Calibration

The Audi A6 e-tron is built on the PPE platform – Premium Platform Electric, co-developed with Porsche – and it introduces a completely different sensor architecture from the combustion A6 it sits alongside. The A6 e-tron uses a new camera and radar arrangement designed around the aerodynamic body, meaning sensor positions differ from every other Audi currently on the road. If your A6 e-tron has been in for bodywork and Pre Sense or Adaptive Cruise Assist is showing faults, the PPE-specific calibration targets are essential.

ADAS Systems on the Audi A6 e-tron

The A6 e-tron carries Audi's latest ADAS suite, adapted for the PPE architecture:

  • Adaptive Cruise Assist – front radar sensor integrated into the closed-off front end (no traditional grille). The sealed fascia means any frontal repair requires precise realignment of the radar mounting behind the smooth panel.
  • Audi Pre Sense Front + Pre Sense City – standard AEB using combined radar and camera data
  • Active Lane Assist – windscreen-mounted camera behind the rearview mirror
  • Side Assist – rear radar sensors for blind spot monitoring during lane changes
  • 360-Degree Camera System – standard on higher trims, using four cameras across the bodywork
  • Park Assist Plus with Automated Parking – ultrasonic sensors and cameras working together

Unlike the combustion A6, the e-tron variant lacks a traditional grille opening. The radar sensor sits behind a flush body panel, making it sensitive to even minor frontal impacts that might look purely cosmetic. The PPE platform is shared with the Porsche Macan Electric, but Audi uses its own Pre Sense software and calibration protocols.

When Your A6 e-tron Needs ADAS Calibration

After frontal body panel repair: Without a traditional grille, the A6 e-tron's radar is mounted behind a smooth, sealed panel. Body shops may not realise the radar is there – a minor repaint or panel realignment can shift it enough to trigger Adaptive Cruise Assist and Pre Sense faults simultaneously.

After windscreen replacement: Active Lane Assist, Traffic Sign Recognition, and Pre Sense all depend on the windscreen-mounted camera. Replacing the glass without recalibrating the camera leaves these systems offline. Our Windscreen Calibration service handles it at £199.

After 360-camera bodywork: If any panel near a camera mount has been repaired or replaced, the surround-view image distorts until each affected camera is individually recalibrated.

ServicePrice
Windscreen Calibration£199
Radar/Sensor Calibration£349
Collision Calibration£349
Full System Reset£499

The A6 e-tron's sealed front end means most frontal repairs need our £349 Radar/Sensor Calibration – the radar behind the flush panel requires static calibration with OEM-grade targets.

Audi A6 e-tron ADAS Calibration — FAQ

Common questions about calibrating ADAS systems on the Audi A6 e-tron

The combustion A6 mounts its front radar behind the grille badge. The A6 e-tron has no grille — the radar sits behind a flush body panel as part of the PPE platform's aerodynamic design. This changes both the sensor position and the calibration reference points. A standard A6 calibration procedure does not apply to the e-tron variant.
