Citroën C4 Cactus ADAS Calibration

The Citroën C4 Cactus was designed with simplicity in mind – Airbump panels, a stripped-back interior, and a deliberately basic specification. Its ADAS is similarly minimal compared to the current C4, but the facelifted 2018 model introduced Active Safety Brake with a windscreen-mounted camera that does require calibration after glass replacement.

ADAS Systems on the Citroën C4 Cactus

The C4 Cactus (2014–2020, discontinued) has two distinct ADAS phases:

Original model (2014–2017):

  • Minimal ADAS – parking sensors and speed limiter only
  • No windscreen camera, no front radar
  • Does not require ADAS calibration

Facelifted model (2018–2020):

  • Active Safety Brake – automatic emergency braking via windscreen-mounted camera
  • Coffee Break Alert – steering-based fatigue detection
  • Speed Limit Recognition – reads road signs via the forward camera

The facelifted C4 Cactus uses a windscreen camera mounted behind the rear-view mirror. It has no front radar – Active Safety Brake relies entirely on the camera system for obstacle detection.

When Your Citroën C4 Cactus Needs Calibration

After Windscreen Replacement

If your C4 Cactus is a 2018+ facelifted model, replacing the windscreen requires camera recalibration. The camera powers Active Safety Brake, Coffee Break Alert, and Speed Limit Recognition – all three go offline when the glass is changed. Our Windscreen Calibration at £199 restores them.

Active Safety Brake Warning

Dashboard warnings about Active Safety Brake on your C4 Cactus typically indicate the windscreen camera has shifted. This can happen after windscreen work, a minor front-end impact, or sensor contamination. A diagnostic scan confirms the cause.

Citroën C4 Cactus ADAS Calibration — FAQ

Common questions about calibrating ADAS systems on the Citroën C4 Cactus

Only the facelifted model (2018–2020) has Active Safety Brake and a windscreen camera. The original C4 Cactus (2014–2017) has no camera or radar ADAS systems and does not require calibration. Check your year and specification if you're unsure.
