Citroën C5 X ADAS Calibration

The C5 X is Citroën's flagship – and the only model in the range with Highway Integrated Assist Plus (HIA+). This is the most advanced ADAS package Citroën offers, adding Semi-Automatic Lane Change and Anticipated Intelligent Speed Assist on top of Highway Driver Assist. Every system depends on precise camera and radar alignment, and HIA+ is more sensitive to misalignment than the standard suite on the C5 Aircross or C4.

ADAS Systems on Your Citroën C5 X

The C5 X (2022+) sits on Stellantis's EMP2 platform and carries the most comprehensive ADAS specification in the Citroën range:

  • Highway Integrated Assist Plus (HIA+) – Citroën's most advanced package. Combines adaptive cruise, lane centring, Semi-Automatic Lane Change, and Anticipated Intelligent Speed Assist
  • Semi-Automatic Lane Change (SALC) – the system initiates a lane change when you activate the indicator at motorway speeds, checking blind spots and adjusting speed automatically
  • Anticipated Intelligent Speed Assist (AISA) – reads speed signs and proactively adjusts vehicle speed before you reach zones with lower limits
  • Active Safety Brake 2.0 – the upgraded version detects pedestrians and cyclists at up to 140 km/h
  • Adaptive Cruise Control with Stop & Go – radar-based, handles full traffic queue management
  • Active Lane Keeping Assist – continuous lane centring with steering intervention
  • Long Range Blind Spot Monitoring – rear bumper sensors for adjacent-lane detection
  • Rear Cross Traffic Alert – reversing collision warning
  • Extended Traffic Sign Recognition with Speed Recommendation
  • 360 Vision – surround-view parking cameras

The front radar is in the front bumper. The forward camera sits behind the rear-view mirror. SALC relies on both sensors plus the Blind Spot sensors working in coordination.

Why Your C5 X Might Need ADAS Calibration

HIA+ Sensitivity

Highway Integrated Assist Plus coordinates multiple sensor inputs simultaneously – front radar, windscreen camera, and blind spot sensors must all agree for Semi-Automatic Lane Change to function. If any single sensor is misaligned, HIA+ deactivates entirely. This makes the C5 X more calibration-sensitive than other Citroën models after any repair that touches the bumpers or windscreen.

After Windscreen Replacement

The C5 X's camera powers lane centring, AISA, traffic sign recognition, and the camera element of Active Safety Brake 2.0. A windscreen replacement displaces the camera and shuts down the entire HIA+ suite. Our Windscreen Calibration at £199 restores camera alignment.

After Front Bumper Repair

The radar behind the front bumper feeds ACC and AEB. On the C5 X, it also contributes to the SALC system's speed management during lane changes. Bumper repair or replacement requires radar calibration to restore all connected systems.

Citroën C5 X ADAS Calibration — FAQ

Common questions about calibrating ADAS systems on the Citroën C5 X

HIA+ is Citroën's Level 2 ADAS package — it adds Semi-Automatic Lane Change (SALC) and Anticipated Intelligent Speed Assist (AISA) on top of the standard Highway Driver Assist found on the C5 Aircross and C4. SALC automates the lane change process on motorways when you indicate, while AISA proactively adjusts speed based on upcoming sign data.
