What is Highway Integrated Assist Plus on the C5 X?

HIA+ is Citroën's Level 2 ADAS package — it adds Semi-Automatic Lane Change (SALC) and Anticipated Intelligent Speed Assist (AISA) on top of the standard Highway Driver Assist found on the C5 Aircross and C4. SALC automates the lane change process on motorways when you indicate, while AISA proactively adjusts speed based on upcoming sign data.

Is the C5 X harder to calibrate than other Citroëns?

The calibration equipment and procedures are the same — same EMP2 platform as the C5 Aircross. The difference is that more systems depend on precise alignment. A minor camera offset that might cause only a lane keeping warning on a C3 will disable the entire HIA+ suite on a C5 X. Getting it right first time matters more.

Does the C5 X share its ADAS with any other Stellantis model?

The base sensors and calibration procedures are shared with the Peugeot 508 and other EMP2 models. However, HIA+ with SALC and AISA is Citroën-specific software running on shared hardware. Why Your C5 X Might Need ADAS Calibration

HIA+ Sensitivity

Highway Integrated Assist Plus coordinates multiple sensor inputs simultaneously – front radar, windscreen camera, and blind spot sensors must all agree for Semi-Automatic Lane Change to function. If any single sensor is misaligned, HIA+ deactivates entirely. This makes the C5 X more calibration-sensitive than other Citroën models after any repair that touches the bumpers or windscreen.

After Windscreen Replacement

After Front Bumper Repair
