Yes — the DS 8 uses the new STLA Medium platform while the DS 7 uses EMP2. Both carry Night Vision and DS Drive Assist 2.0, but the underlying platform and potential sensor positions differ. Our equipment supports both platforms.

Does the DS 8 have Night Vision like the DS 7?

Yes — DS Night Vision with the infrared grille camera carries over to the DS 8. It remains exclusive to the larger DS models — the DS 3 and DS 4 do not have it.

Can you calibrate the DS 8 at launch?

The DS 8 is the newest addition to the DS range – launching on the STLA Medium platform with the most advanced sensor suite DS has ever fitted. DS Drive Assist 2.0, Night Vision, and a full array of cameras and radar make this the most calibration-intensive DS yet. As the first DS on the STLA platform, calibration requires updated procedures that we support from launch.

The DS 8 (2025+) debuts on the STLA Medium platform – Stellantis's next-generation architecture replacing EMP2:

The STLA Medium platform may feature updated sensor positions compared to the EMP2 DS 7 and DS 9, but the core three-sensor architecture – windscreen camera, front radar, Night Vision infrared camera – carries over.

When Your DS 8 Needs ADAS Calibration

After Windscreen Replacement

The windscreen camera powers ADAS and Active Scan Suspension, just as on the DS 7. A windscreen swap requires camera recalibration to restore all camera-dependent systems.

After Bumper or Grille Repair

Night Vision's infrared camera and the front radar are in the front end. Any bumper or grille work requires sensor calibration to restore cruise control and Night Vision.
