Does the convertible roof affect AEB?

No. The Pista Spider's retractable hardtop sits behind the cabin. The AEB radar is in the front bumper — the two systems are entirely independent. Roof position has no effect on AEB function or calibration.

Can you calibrate at my specialist storage facility?

We work with specialist Ferrari facilities across the UK. If your Pista Spider is stored at a specialist and needs post-repair calibration, we can coordinate attendance at their facility or use one of our 70+ workshops. We also calibrate the 488 Pista coupe and F8 Spider.

Ferrari 488 Pista Spider ADAS Calibration

Only 799 Ferrari 488 Pista Spiders were produced – making it one of the rarest modern Ferraris on UK roads. But rarity does not exempt the car from ADAS calibration requirements. If your Pista Spider has AEB and the front bumper has been repaired, the radar needs the same professional recalibration as any other Ferrari. The difference is that the Pista Spider's unique aero profile means the calibration must reference its specific bumper geometry.

The 488 Pista Spider (2018-2020) shares its track-focused platform with the 488 Pista:

Autonomous Emergency Braking (AEB) – available on production models. Front radar behind the aggressive front bumper.
Parking sensors – ultrasonic front and rear.

No ACC, no lane assist, no blind spot monitoring. The Pista Spider is a track tool with a convertible roof – ADAS is limited to AEB where fitted. The retractable hardtop mechanism sits behind the cabin and has no interaction with the front-mounted radar.

When Your 488 Pista Spider Needs Calibration

After Track or Road Damage

The Pista Spider sees both track days and spirited road driving. Front splitter contact, stone chip damage, and parking scrapes can all lead to bumper removal. Any time the front bumper is removed, the AEB radar shifts and needs recalibration.

After Collision Repair

On a car valued at over £500,000, collision repair goes through the most specialist facilities. Once the bodywork is complete, the ADAS calibration step ensures the AEB system meets manufacturer specification. Our Collision Calibration provides this.

After Paint Correction or Full Respray

Some Pista Spider owners commission PPF application or colour corrections that involve bumper removal. Even without damage, the removal and refitting process shifts the radar from its calibrated position.
