Ferrari F8 Spider ADAS Calibration

The F8 Spider is a summer car – roof down, coastal roads, the kind of driving that puts more debris on the windscreen and more kerb contact on the front splitter than a garage-kept coupe ever sees. It shares its AEB hardware with the F8 Tributo, but the Spider's usage patterns mean calibration triggers appear more frequently. If your F8 Spider's emergency braking warning came on after bodywork, the front radar has shifted and needs professional realignment.

ADAS Sensors on the F8 Spider

The F8 Spider (2020+) carries the same minimal ADAS configuration as the F8 Tributo – standard AEB with a front radar behind the bumper, and the Full ADAS Pack rarely fitted on the F8 series. Most F8 Spiders have a single ADAS sensor to worry about: the bumper-mounted radar.

The Spider's retractable hardtop does not interact with the radar, but it does change the windscreen frame. The glass bonds to a convertible-specific structure for open-top rigidity, which is relevant if your Spider ever needs windscreen work – the replacement process has different tolerances compared to the Tributo.

Spider-Specific Calibration Triggers

Summer Driving Wear on the Front End

F8 Spider owners accumulate front-end wear differently from Tributo owners. Open-top driving means country lanes, harbour-side parking, ferry ramps – environments where low-speed front splitter and bumper contact is common. Even a minor scuff that sends the car to a body shop for cosmetic work can displace the AEB radar if the bumper is removed. Radar recalibration is required regardless of the repair scope.

Higher Windscreen Exposure

Without a fixed roof, the F8 Spider's windscreen catches debris at angles the Tributo's roofline deflects. While most F8 Spiders lack the Full ADAS Pack camera, the windscreen is still bonded to a structural frame. If your Spider has the rare ADAS Pack, every windscreen replacement triggers camera recalibration.

Post-Collision on a Convertible Chassis

Collision repair on the F8 Spider follows the same process as the Tributo for the front radar – but insurers and bodyshops increasingly flag the Spider's convertible construction as requiring additional sign-off steps. Our calibration certificate provides the ADAS verification that closes the repair file.

Ferrari F8 Spider ADAS Calibration — FAQ

Common questions about calibrating ADAS systems on the Ferrari F8 Spider

Not from a technical standpoint — the hardware is identical. But Spider owners tend to use their cars in conditions that cause more front-end contact: summer driving on unfamiliar roads, tighter parking situations at events, and higher stone chip exposure with the roof down. More bodywork events means more calibration events.
