Fiat Ducato ADAS Calibration

The Fiat Ducato Series 8 is the first light commercial vehicle with Level 2 autonomous driving – ACC with Stop & Go, Lane Keep Assist, and Traffic Jam Assist built into the UK's best-selling large van. Fleet operators and body shops replacing bumpers on Ducatos need ADAS recalibration every time, and the radar behind the front bumper takes a beating from loading bays, tight depots, and delivery routes.

ADAS Systems on Your Fiat Ducato

The Ducato Series 8 (2022+) carries a commercial-grade ADAS suite designed for professional drivers:

  • Adaptive Cruise Control with Stop & Go – Radar-based, maintains distance in motorway traffic and automatically stops and restarts in queues
  • Traffic Jam Assist – Combines ACC with Stop & Go and Lane Keep Assist at low speeds for semi-autonomous driving in congestion
  • Full Brake Control – The Ducato's commercial-grade AEB, using radar behind the front bumper and windscreen camera for vehicle and pedestrian detection
  • Lane Keep Assist (LKA) – Steers the Ducato back into lane if it drifts without indicating
  • Intelligent Speed Assistant (ISA) – Camera-based speed limit recognition
  • Rear Cross Path Detection (RCD) – Warns of cross-traffic when reversing – particularly relevant for a van this size
  • Traffic Sign Recognition (TSR) – Camera-based, feeds speed data to the instrument cluster

The Ducato uses radar behind the front bumper plus a forward camera behind the windscreen – two sensor locations that cover the entire ADAS suite. The same SEVEL platform underpins the Citroën Relay and Peugeot Boxer with similar sensor configurations.

Pre-Series 8 Ducatos (before 2022): Earlier models have basic or no ADAS. If your Ducato predates 2022, check your specification – most pre-Series 8 vans don't require calibration.

Common Ducato ADAS Issues

Bumper Damage From Commercial Use

The Ducato's front bumper sees more contact than almost any vehicle we service. Loading bay strikes, depot manoeuvring, tight urban deliveries – the radar behind the bumper absorbs it all. After any bumper removal, replacement, or repair, ACC and Full Brake Control need radar recalibration. This is the single most common Ducato calibration we perform.

Windscreen Replacement on High-Mileage Vans

Commercial Ducatos accumulate windscreen damage faster than passenger cars. The forward camera behind the windscreen powers LKA, ISA, TSR, and the camera input to Full Brake Control. After windscreen replacement, all camera-dependent systems need recalibration.

Fleet Calibration Requirements

If your body shop or fleet operation handles Ducato repairs regularly, you need a calibration partner who can process vehicles at fixed pricing with certification. We provide calibration certificates for each vehicle – essential for fleet compliance records.

Fiat Ducato ADAS Calibration — FAQ

Common questions about calibrating ADAS systems on the Fiat Ducato

The Ducato, Peugeot Boxer, and Citroën Relay share the SEVEL platform with similar sensor hardware. Calibration procedures overlap significantly. However, the Ducato Series 8 has Fiat-specific software for Traffic Jam Assist and Full Brake Control that requires Fiat-compatible diagnostics — not a generic Stellantis approach.
