Infiniti Q30 ADAS Calibration

The Infiniti Q30 sits on an unusual platform for this brand – it shares the Mercedes-Benz A-Class (W176) MFA architecture, but the ADAS hardware is pure Nissan. Body shops familiar with Mercedes will recognise the chassis, then discover the Safety Shield sensors run completely different software. If your Q30's Forward Emergency Braking or Blind Spot Warning stopped working after a repair, our technicians know both sides of this platform split.

ADAS Systems on Your Infiniti Q30

The Q30 (2015–2020) carries Infiniti's Safety Shield suite on the MFA platform:

  • Forward Emergency Braking (FEB) – standard from 2015, uses front radar behind the grille and windscreen camera to detect imminent collisions and brake automatically
  • Blind Spot Warning (BSW) – sensors in the rear bumper corners alert to vehicles in adjacent lanes
  • Intelligent Cruise Control (ICC) – radar-based adaptive cruise maintaining a set following distance
  • Around View Monitor (AVM) – four cameras (front, rear, both side mirrors) providing a bird's-eye parking view
  • Lane Departure Warning (LDW) – audible alert when crossing lane markings without indicating

The front radar sits behind the grille. The forward-facing camera is bonded to the windscreen behind the rear-view mirror. The AVM uses cameras in all four positions, including the side mirrors – a mirror replacement is a common calibration trigger.

When Your Infiniti Q30 Needs ADAS Calibration

After Windscreen Replacement

The Q30's forward-facing camera powers Forward Emergency Braking accuracy and Lane Departure Warning. When the glass is replaced, the camera must be recalibrated. Many windscreen fitters have never encountered an Infiniti and may not complete the ADAS calibration step.

After Bumper or Grille Work

Intelligent Cruise Control and Forward Emergency Braking share the radar behind the front grille. Even cosmetic bumper work that requires grille removal can shift the radar alignment. If ICC became unavailable after a body shop visit, radar recalibration restores the system.

Mirror Replacement and Around View Monitor

The Q30's AVM cameras in the side mirrors are vulnerable to parking damage. A mirror replacement without subsequent camera recalibration produces a distorted bird's-eye view with visible stitching errors.

Infiniti Q30 ADAS Calibration — FAQ

Common questions about calibrating ADAS systems on the Infiniti Q30

No. The Q30 shares the MFA chassis platform with the Mercedes-Benz A-Class (W176), but the ADAS hardware and software are Nissan-derived. Calibration procedures follow Nissan protocols, not Mercedes. The chassis is familiar to Mercedes workshops, but the sensors are not.
