Jaguar F-Type ADAS Calibration

The F-Type is Jaguar's sports car – and while it carries a leaner ADAS package than the F-Pace or E-Pace, the systems it does have are safety-critical and require the same JLR-standard calibration after any repair that disturbs them. If your F-Type's Emergency Braking has deactivated after a front-end repair, the radar behind the lower grille needs professional recalibration.

Drive Assist on the Jaguar F-Type

The F-Type's ADAS offering is more focused than Jaguar's SUV lineup – built around the core safety systems rather than semi-autonomous driving features:

F-Type (X152, 2013–2020): Emergency Braking and Adaptive Cruise Control available as optional equipment. The front radar sits behind the lower intake grille. Lane Departure Warning via windscreen camera available on later models. Blind Spot Assist optional on higher specifications.

F-Type (X152 facelift, 2020–2024): Emergency Braking standard on all trims. Adaptive Cruise Control with Steering Assist on R-Dynamic and above. Lane Keep Assist upgraded from warning-only. The radar position remains behind the lower grille, but the updated sensor unit has a narrower calibration tolerance.

The F-Type's low nose and wide front intake mean the radar sensor sits lower and further forward than on Jaguar's SUV models. This position makes it more exposed during front-end impacts – even at car park speeds – but also easier to access during calibration.

F-Type ADAS – When Calibration Is Needed

Front-end damage and bumper repairs: The F-Type's low nose takes impacts that higher SUVs avoid entirely. Kerb strikes, speed bumps at the wrong angle, and parking bollards can all shift the front radar position. Because the F-Type's bumper is a complex composite assembly, even a cosmetic repair involving bumper removal can affect sensor alignment. You'll see Emergency Braking and ACC warnings on the instrument cluster.

Windscreen replacement: On models with Lane Departure Warning or Lane Keep Assist, the windscreen-mounted camera requires recalibration after glass replacement. The F-Type's steeply raked windscreen means the camera angle is more acute than on Jaguar's upright SUVs – calibration targets must be positioned accordingly.

Track day or spirited driving: The F-Type is a sports car that owners use at higher speeds and on track days. Vibration from sustained high-speed driving, heavy braking, and kerb strikes on circuit exits can subtly shift sensor alignment over time – enough to trigger intermittent warnings.

Jaguar F-Type Calibration Pricing

ServicePrice
Windscreen Calibration£199
Radar/Sensor Calibration£349
Collision Calibration£349
Full System Reset£499

Most F-Type owners need radar calibration after front-end work – that's our fixed £349 rate. The F-Type's simpler sensor layout compared to the I-Pace means single-system calibration is usually sufficient.

Jaguar F-Type ADAS Calibration — FAQ

Common questions about calibrating ADAS systems on the Jaguar F-Type

Yes. The F-Type carries Emergency Braking, ACC, and optional Lane Keep Assist and Blind Spot Assist. It doesn't have ClearSight Ground View or the 3D Surround Camera available on the F-Pace and E-Pace. Fewer systems means a simpler calibration — but each one still requires OEM-grade precision.
