My I-Pace feels like it's phantom braking. Is that an ADAS issue?

It can be. If the front radar is slightly misaligned — common after minor bumper contact — Emergency Braking may trigger inappropriately, especially at motorway speeds. This interacts with the I-Pace's regenerative braking and can feel like sudden deceleration. Radar calibration at £349 resolves the sensor alignment.

Is the I-Pace ClearSight rear-view mirror part of the ADAS system?

The ClearSight mirror uses a dedicated rear camera that's separate from the reversing camera. If the tailgate or rear section has been repaired, this camera may need recalibration alongside Rear Traffic Monitor. The F-Pace and E-Pace on higher trims also feature ClearSight systems.

Drive Assist Systems on the Jaguar I-Pace

The I-Pace launched in 2018 on a bespoke EV platform (not shared with F-Pace or E-Pace):

EV-specific consideration: Miscalibrated forward radar can cause Emergency Braking to interact unpredictably with regenerative braking – creating jerky deceleration that feels like phantom braking. Proper radar calibration resolves this.

When Your I-Pace Needs ADAS Calibration

After collision repair: The I-Pace's aluminium body structure is repaired differently from steel-bodied vehicles. After front-end work, both the radar sensor and windscreen camera need verification – collision calibration covers both.

After windscreen replacement: Lane Keep Assist and Driver Condition Monitor depend on the windscreen camera. The I-Pace's specific camera mounting angle means precision matters – this is our £199 windscreen calibration service.
