Kia K4 ADAS Calibration

The Kia K4 replaces the Cerato/Forte as Kia's compact saloon – built on a new platform with the latest generation of DriveWise, including Forward Collision-Avoidance Assist 2.0 with junction-turning and oncoming vehicle detection. The K4's front radar is integrated into the redesigned bumper, and any bodywork in that area disables multiple safety systems simultaneously. ADAS Line calibrates all K4 DriveWise systems from £199 at 70+ UK workshops.

DriveWise Systems on the Kia K4

The K4 (2024+) launches with Kia's latest DriveWise generation – a step up from the outgoing Cerato's more basic package. The sensor layout follows Kia's standard architecture but with updated hardware:

  • Forward Collision-Avoidance Assist (FCA) 2.0 – enhanced camera and radar fusion with junction-turning, lane-change, and oncoming vehicle detection. The most advanced FCA version available in a Kia compact.
  • Smart Cruise Control (SCC) with Stop & Go – radar-based adaptive cruise using the sensor behind the front bumper emblem.
  • Lane Following Assist (LFA) 2.0 – machine learning-based lane centring that adapts to driving patterns. Uses the windscreen camera.
  • Blind-Spot Collision-Avoidance Assist (BCA) – rear radar sensors with active braking and steering intervention.
  • Highway Driving Assist (HDA) – combines SCC and LFA for semi-autonomous motorway driving. Requires both radar and camera to be calibrated.
  • Driver Attention Warning (DAW) – camera-based driver monitoring for fatigue and distraction.

The K4's updated FCA 2.0 system is the same version found on the EV6 – it requires tighter calibration tolerances than the standard FCA on older Kia models.

When Your Kia K4 Needs Calibration

After front bumper or collision repair – the K4's front radar behind the Kia emblem handles SCC, FCA 2.0, and the distance component of HDA. Bumper replacement, grille repair, or frontal collision work shifts the sensor. Smart Cruise Control and Highway Driving Assist will deactivate until radar recalibration is completed.

After windscreen replacement – LFA 2.0, DAW, and the camera component of FCA 2.0 depend on the windscreen-mounted camera. Every windscreen swap requires camera calibration before these systems function again.

After rear-end bodywork – BCA uses radar sensors in both rear quarter panels. Reversing collisions, rear bumper replacement, or rear-end damage disables blind-spot detection until rear sensors are recalibrated.

Kia K4 Calibration Pricing

ServicePrice
Windscreen Calibration£199
Radar/Sensor Calibration£349
Collision Calibration£349
Full System Reset£499

The K4's FCA 2.0 system – shared with the EV6 – needs the same precision calibration after front-end work. Radar calibration at £349 restores full functionality, including Highway Driving Assist.

Kia K4 ADAS Calibration — FAQ

Common questions about calibrating ADAS systems on the Kia K4

Yes. The K4 carries FCA 2.0 and LFA 2.0 — the same generation of DriveWise found on the EV6. The Ceed uses the previous generation with standard FCA. The K4 requires tighter calibration tolerances to match its more advanced detection capabilities. See all Kia models
