Kia ProCeed ADAS Calibration

Had your ProCeed's lower front grille replaced after a stone chip – and now Smart Cruise Control won't engage? The ProCeed is Kia's shooting brake variant of the Ceed family, sharing the same CD platform and DriveWise sensors. But its sportier, lower-slung front end sits closer to road debris height, making grille damage more frequent than on the hatchback sibling. From £199.

DriveWise Systems on the Kia ProCeed

The ProCeed (CD, 2019+) shares its ADAS configuration with the Ceed hatchback and Sportswagon – same sensors, same mounting points, same software. The difference is body shape: the ProCeed's lower roofline and sportier bumper encounter different damage patterns.

ProCeed (2019+):

  • Forward Collision-Avoidance Assist (FCA) – automatic emergency braking via the windscreen camera and front radar. Standard on most trims from launch.
  • Smart Cruise Control (SCC) – radar-based adaptive cruise. The radar sits behind the lower front grille, identical to the Ceed and XCeed.
  • Lane Keeping Assist (LKA) – camera-based lane departure correction using the windscreen camera.
  • Driver Attention Warning (DAW) – fatigue monitoring through driving pattern analysis.

ProCeed GT and GT-Line may include Lane Following Assist (LFA) – a software feature using the existing camera and radar.

Sensor locations: Front radar behind the lower grille. Forward camera at the windscreen rearview mirror mount. No rear blind-spot radar on the ProCeed.

Common Calibration Triggers for the ProCeed

After lower grille or bumper damage

The ProCeed sits lower than the Ceed hatchback or XCeed crossover. Speed bumps, kerbs, and road debris hit the lower grille area more readily – exactly where the radar is mounted. SCC and FCA deactivate if the radar shifts even slightly.

After windscreen replacement

The ProCeed's raked windscreen angle means the camera position differs from an upright hatchback. After any windscreen swap, calibration must account for this angle for accurate LKA lane detection.

After rear-end bodywork

The ProCeed doesn't have rear radar, but its shooting brake tailgate sits at a shallow angle – vulnerable to rear-end damage. If both rear glass and windscreen were affected, the front camera needs recalibration even if the rear work seems unrelated.

Kia ProCeed ADAS Calibration — FAQ

Common questions about calibrating ADAS systems on the Kia ProCeed

The ProCeed, Ceed, and Sportswagon share the same CD platform and DriveWise hardware. Calibration procedures are identical. The practical difference is the ProCeed's lower bumper height — more prone to grille-area damage triggering radar recalibration. See all Kia models
