Land Rover Range Rover Velar ADAS Calibration

The Range Rover Velar sits between the Evoque and the Range Rover Sport – a design-led SUV with flush door handles, minimal panel gaps, and a comprehensive ADAS suite that's tightly integrated into the bodywork. That elegant design means sensors are concealed in precisely fitted panels, and any body repair has the potential to shift multiple sensor positions simultaneously. If your Velar's Autonomous Emergency Braking or ClearSight Ground View has faulted after bodywork, specialist calibration is the fix.

ADAS Systems on the Range Rover Velar

The Velar (L560, 2017–present) carries a full Land Rover ADAS suite:

Standard systems (2017+):

  • Autonomous Emergency Braking (AEB) – Radar and camera fusion for collision prevention. The front radar is behind the lower grille area.
  • Lane Keep Assist – Active lane centring via the windscreen-mounted camera.
  • Lane Departure Warning – Camera-based drift detection.
  • Adaptive Cruise Control with Steering Assist – Front radar-based speed and distance management on higher trims, standard on later builds.

Higher specification systems:

  • Blind Spot Assist with Closing Vehicle Sensing – Rear radar sensors detecting vehicles approaching at speed from behind, not just in the blind spot.
  • Rear Traffic Monitor – Warns of crossing traffic when reversing.
  • 3D Surround Camera – Four or more cameras providing a three-dimensional overhead view of the vehicle.
  • ClearSight Ground View – Front cameras rendering the ground beneath the bonnet on the touchscreen.
  • ClearSight Rear View – Digital rear-view mirror using a tailgate-mounted camera.

Key Velar detail: The flush, concealed panel design integrates sensors into bodywork with very tight tolerances. A panel repair that's a few millimetres off can affect sensor alignment – which is why the Velar generates more multi-sensor calibration needs than conventionally styled Land Rovers like the Discovery or Defender.

Why Your Range Rover Velar Needs Calibration

After collision or body panel repair: Even cosmetic bodywork can shift sensor positions on the Velar. A single front-end repair can affect the front radar, surround camera, and ClearSight Ground View camera simultaneously. Our collision calibration covers multi-sensor recalibration in one visit.

Windscreen replacement: The windscreen camera handles Lane Keep Assist, Lane Departure Warning, and the camera's contribution to AEB. After windscreen replacement, static calibration restores these systems.

ClearSight and surround camera issues after panel work: ClearSight Ground View depends on front cameras that can be disturbed by grille work, bumper repairs, or panel removal for paintwork. If the "transparent bonnet" display shows misaligned images, the front cameras need recalibrating. Any panel carrying a surround camera – door mirrors, tailgate, front grille – needs camera recalibration after removal and refit.

Range Rover Velar Calibration Pricing

ServicePrice
Windscreen Calibration£199
Radar/Sensor Calibration£349
Collision Calibration£349
Full System Reset£499

The Velar's multi-camera design means our £499 full system reset is the most common service after significant bodywork – covering front radar, windscreen camera, surround cameras, and ClearSight systems in one appointment. For single-sensor work after a windscreen replacement, £199 covers the camera recalibration. See all Land Rover models.

Land Rover Range Rover Velar ADAS Calibration — FAQ

Common questions about calibrating ADAS systems on the Land Rover Range Rover Velar

The Velar's flush panel design integrates sensors more tightly into the bodywork, which means more sensors can be affected by a single repair. The calibration procedures themselves use the same OEM-grade equipment as all Land Rover models. The complexity is in identifying which sensors were displaced — our technicians run a full diagnostic scan first to map the faults before calibrating each sensor.
