Lucid Air ADAS Calibration

Fourteen cameras, five radars, a roof-mounted solid-state LiDAR, and twelve ultrasonic sensors – all communicating over a proprietary gigabit ethernet ring that most diagnostic tools cannot fully access. The Lucid Air's DreamDrive Pro is the most sensor-dense ADAS system on any production car. When any of those 32 sensors shifts after a repair, the entire system needs specialist recalibration that virtually no UK independent can provide.

ADAS Systems on Your Lucid Air

The Air comes in two ADAS tiers:

DreamDrive (standard – Air Pure):

  • 14 visible-light cameras, 5 radar units, 4 surround-view cameras, 12 ultrasonic sensors
  • Highway Assist (ACC), Lane Keeping Assist, AEB, Blind Spot Warning, 360-degree Surround View

DreamDrive Pro (Air Touring, Grand Touring, Sapphire):

  • Everything in standard plus a forward-facing solid-state LiDAR on the roof
  • Hands-Free Drive Assist, Hands-Free Lane Change Assist, Driver-Initiated Lane Change Assist
  • Driver Monitoring System with cabin-facing camera

The system runs on four corner-mounted computer gateways connected by gigabit ethernet – a fundamentally different architecture to traditional CAN bus ADAS. Standard OBD tools may not fully access the system.

When Your Lucid Air Needs Recalibration

After Windscreen Replacement

Multiple forward cameras sit behind the windscreen. Replacing the glass disrupts every camera in the cluster – Highway Assist, Lane Centring, TSR, and AEB all depend on it. Specialist calibration is essential.

After Any Body Repair

With sensors on every panel – five radars in bumpers and corners, cameras in mirrors and pillars, ultrasonic sensors throughout – even a fender repair can displace multiple systems. Multi-sensor calibration is the standard post-repair service for a Lucid Air.

DreamDrive Pro LiDAR

The roof-mounted LiDAR on Pro-equipped models is sensitive to any roof panel, header, or windscreen work. If Hands-Free Drive Assist becomes unavailable after repairs near the roofline, LiDAR recalibration is needed.
