Maserati MC20 Cielo ADAS Calibration

The defining feature of the MC20 Cielo is its electrochromic glass roof – a panel that switches from transparent to opaque before retracting entirely. That glass roof adds weight, complexity, and ownership scenarios the MC20 coupe never encounters. When bodywork or glass repairs intersect with ADAS sensors, the Cielo demands calibration that accounts for its convertible-specific construction.

ADAS Sensors on the MC20 Cielo

The MC20 Cielo (2023+) shares its sensor architecture with the MC20 coupe – AEB, ACC, Lane Keeping Assist, Blind Spot Assist, Surround View Camera, and Traffic Sign Recognition, all mounted on the same bespoke carbon fibre monocoque. No sensors are housed in or near the glass roof mechanism.

The Cielo's additional 65kg (largely from the roof system) affects the car's static pitch. This is factory-calibrated into the sensor alignment – but if suspension work or ride height adjustments accompany bodywork, the original pitch reference may no longer apply, requiring recalibration even without direct sensor disturbance.

Cielo-Specific Calibration Triggers

Electrochromic Glass Roof Replacement

If the Cielo's glass roof panel cracks or the electrochromic layer fails, replacement is specialist and expensive. The panel does not house ADAS sensors, but removing and refitting it requires partial disassembly of the rear bodywork. If Blind Spot Assist sensors in the rear quarters are disturbed during this process, recalibration is required.

Higher Windscreen Replacement Frequency

Like all open-top supercars, the MC20 Cielo's windscreen takes more direct hits from road debris when the roof is retracted. The forward camera for LKA, TSR, and AEB sits behind the rearview mirror. Each windscreen replacement triggers camera recalibration – and Cielo owners tend to replace windscreens more frequently than coupe owners.

Convertible Bodywork Insurance Claims

Convertible supercars carry higher insurance claim frequency. The Cielo's carbon fibre panels combined with the glass roof mechanism mean repair bills escalate quickly. Insurers increasingly require ADAS recalibration proof as part of repair sign-off. Our calibration certificate provides this documentation.

Maserati MC20 Cielo Calibration Pricing

ServicePrice
Windscreen Calibration£199
Radar/Sensor Calibration£349
Collision Calibration£349
Full System Reset£499

On a vehicle where a glass roof panel replacement alone can cost five figures, our £349 Radar/Sensor Calibration is a minor but essential line item. For post-collision work affecting multiple sensors, the £499 Full System Reset covers everything.

Maserati MC20 Cielo ADAS Calibration — FAQ

Common questions about calibrating ADAS systems on the Maserati MC20 Cielo

No. The roof panel sits above the passenger compartment, well away from the front radar, windscreen camera, and rear blind spot sensors. The electrochromic electrical system is isolated from the ADAS wiring. However, if the glass roof is removed for replacement, rear bodywork disassembly may disturb the Blind Spot Assist sensors — check alignment after any roof repair.
