Mazda CX-30 ADAS Calibration

The Mazda CX-30 launched in 2019 with the full i-Activsense suite as standard across every trim – no optional extras, no missing sensors. That means every CX-30 on UK roads has MRCC, SBS, SCBS, LAS, BSM, and Traffic Sign Recognition, all dependent on precisely calibrated radar and camera sensors. When any of these sensors are disturbed by repair work, ADAS Line recalibrates them at 70+ UK workshops from £199.

ADAS Systems on the Mazda CX-30

Built on the Skyactiv-Vehicle Architecture (the same platform as the fourth-generation Mazda3), the CX-30 carries a sensor layout that's tightly integrated into the body structure:

  • Mazda Radar Cruise Control (MRCC) – front radar behind the Mazda emblem, maintaining distance and speed
  • Smart Brake Support (SBS) – high-speed automatic emergency braking via front radar, activates above 30 km/h
  • Smart City Brake Support (SCBS) – low-speed automatic braking using a near-infrared laser sensor, protecting against collisions below 30 km/h in traffic
  • Lane-keep Assist System (LAS) and Lane Departure Warning (LDWS) – windscreen-mounted camera behind the rearview mirror
  • Blind Spot Monitoring (BSM) and Rear Cross Traffic Alert (RCTA) – rear radar sensors in the bumper corners
  • Traffic Sign Recognition (TSR) and Driver Attention Alert (DAA) – camera-based, processed through the forward camera

The CX-30's compact crossover dimensions mean the front radar is positioned lower than on the larger CX-5 – sitting closer to typical car park impact height and more vulnerable to low-speed frontal contact.

Common CX-30 ADAS Triggers

After windscreen replacement: The CX-30's forward camera is bonded to the windscreen behind the rearview mirror. When the glass is replaced, the camera position shifts – even fractionally. LAS, LDWS, TSR, and DAA all stop functioning correctly until the camera is recalibrated. This is our £199 Windscreen Calibration service.

After front bumper repair: MRCC and SBS share the front radar behind the emblem. A frontal collision, bumper replacement, or even grille work can shift the sensor. Dashboard warnings for both systems typically appear together.

"The CX-30's lower radar position compared to larger Mazda SUVs means car park bumps and low-speed frontal impacts are a more frequent calibration trigger – the sensor sits right in the contact zone."

After Cat S or Cat N purchase: The CX-30 is popular in the UK used market, and salvage-repaired vehicles frequently arrive with uncalibrated ADAS sensors. If you've bought a repaired CX-30 and the i-Activsense systems aren't responding, calibration is likely needed. See our Cat S ADAS guide for more detail.

Mazda CX-30 ADAS Calibration — FAQ

Common questions about calibrating ADAS systems on the Mazda CX-30

The CX-30 and Mazda3 share the same Skyactiv-Vehicle Architecture platform and identical i-Activsense hardware. The sensor types, positions, and system names are the same — but the CX-30's raised ride height means the radar and camera calibration reference points are different. Each model requires its own vehicle-specific calibration procedure.
