Mazda CX-80 ADAS Calibration

The Mazda CX-80 is a stretched, three-row version of the CX-60 – sharing the same rear-wheel-drive large platform and the latest i-Activsense technology. But the CX-80's longer wheelbase and extended rear overhang change the rear sensor geometry, meaning BSM and RCTA calibration targets differ from the CX-60 despite shared hardware. If your CX-80 has ADAS warnings after bodywork, the calibration must account for this longer body.

ADAS Systems on the Mazda CX-80

The CX-80 (2024+) carries the same advanced i-Activsense suite as the CX-60, with calibration differences driven by the extended body:

  • Mazda Radar Cruise Control (MRCC) with Stop & Go – front radar behind the Mazda emblem, full-speed-range adaptive cruise
  • Smart Brake Support (SBS) – high-speed AEB with intersection turn-across detection
  • Smart City Brake Support (SCBS) – low-speed AEB with pedestrian and cyclist detection
  • Lane-keep Assist System (LAS) – windscreen camera with active steering
  • Cruising & Traffic Support (CTS) – semi-autonomous highway driving combining MRCC and LAS
  • Blind Spot Monitoring (BSM) – rear radar sensors, but positioned further back than on the CX-60 due to the longer rear overhang
  • Rear Cross Traffic Alert (RCTA) with braking – automatic braking when reversing into cross-traffic
  • Driver Monitoring System – interior camera watching for driver inattention
  • 360-Degree View Monitor – four exterior cameras, calibrated to the CX-80's larger body dimensions

The CX-80's rear BSM radar sensors are positioned further from the vehicle centreline than on the CX-60, and the longer rear overhang changes the detection angles. Calibration targets for these rear sensors are CX-80-specific. The front sensor layout mirrors the CX-60 exactly.

When Your CX-80 Needs i-Activsense Recalibration

After rear-end impact or bumper repair: The CX-80's three-row layout extends the rear overhang, positioning BSM and RCTA sensors further back than on any other Mazda. Parking lot bumps, reversing collisions, and tow-bar fitting can all shift these sensors. If blind spot or cross-traffic alerts have stopped working, the rear radars need recalibrating.

After frontal collision or bumper repair: The front radar behind the emblem handles MRCC, SBS, and intersection detection – identical to the CX-60. Bumper work shifts the radar, disabling cruise control and emergency braking. Our Radar/Sensor Calibration (£349) covers this.

After windscreen replacement: LAS, CTS, LDWS, TSR, and the Driver Monitoring System depend on cameras. Our Windscreen Calibration (£199) recalibrates the forward camera after glass replacement.

Mazda CX-80 Calibration Pricing

ServicePrice
Windscreen Calibration£199
Radar/Sensor Calibration£349
Collision Calibration£349
Full System Reset£499

Rear-end repairs on the CX-80 typically need our £349 Radar/Sensor Calibration for the BSM and RCTA sensors – positioned further back than on any other Mazda SUV due to the three-row body.

Mazda CX-80 ADAS Calibration — FAQ

Common questions about calibrating ADAS systems on the Mazda CX-80

Same platform, same front sensor layout, same i-Activsense systems. The difference is the rear: the CX-80's longer wheelbase and extended rear overhang reposition the BSM and RCTA radar sensors. Front radar and camera calibration procedures match the CX-60, but rear sensor calibration uses CX-80-specific target distances.
