Peugeot 2008 ADAS Calibration

If your Peugeot 2008's Active Safety Brake warning has appeared on the dashboard after a bumper repair, the radar sensor behind the front panel has likely shifted. The 2008's raised ride height puts its front bumper at car park barrier level – and what looks like a cosmetic scuff can misalign the radar enough to disable Active Safety Brake and Adaptive Cruise Control entirely.

ADAS Systems on Your Peugeot 2008

The current 2008 (2019+, CMP platform) shares its sensor layout with the Peugeot 208, but the SUV body changes the dynamics:

  • Active Safety Brake – Peugeot's AEB. Uses front radar and windscreen camera. Standard from 2019.
  • Adaptive Cruise Control with Stop & Go – radar-based, behind the front bumper. Available on Allure and GT trims.
  • Lane Keeping Assist + Lane Departure Warning – windscreen camera-dependent. Any windscreen replacement triggers recalibration.
  • Blind Spot Monitoring – radar sensors in the rear quarter panels. Available on GT trim and above. Rear bumper or quarter panel repairs require recalibration.
  • Visio Park – rear camera and ultrasonic parking sensors. Rear bumper replacement affects sensor alignment.

The first-generation 2008 (2013–2019) has minimal ADAS – no calibratable systems. Only the 2019+ CMP-platform model carries the full Drive Assist suite.

The 2008's higher ground clearance compared to the 208 means the front radar is positioned slightly higher on the bumper – but it also means the bumper sits at exactly the height of standard car park barriers, bollards, and shopping trolley impacts.

Why Your Peugeot 2008 Might Need ADAS Calibration

After front bumper repair

The 2008 is a school run and commute SUV. Low-speed parking impacts are the most common trigger we see across small Peugeot SUVs. The radar behind the front bumper shifts during impact or panel replacement, and Active Safety Brake plus ACC deactivate until the sensor is professionally recalibrated.

After windscreen replacement

Same as the 208 – the i-Cockpit camera behind the windscreen requires calibration after every glass replacement. If your windscreen company couldn't complete it, we finish the job. See our windscreen replacement guide for what to expect.

After rear bumper work (Blind Spot equipped models)

If your 2008 has Blind Spot Monitoring and you've had rear quarter panel or bumper repairs, the rear radar sensors may need recalibrating. Without calibration, blind spot alerts won't function – a hazard on dual carriageways and motorways.

After a front bumper repair on your 2008, radar recalibration at our fixed £349 rate restores Active Safety Brake and ACC. If rear sensors also need attention, our £349 Collision Calibration covers both ends.

Peugeot 2008 ADAS Calibration — FAQ

Common questions about calibrating ADAS systems on the Peugeot 2008

They share the CMP platform and the same sensor hardware — Active Safety Brake, Lane Keeping Assist, and ACC use identical components. The difference is positioning: the 2008's higher ride height places the front radar at a different angle, which means calibration targets must be set specifically for the 2008's geometry. We calibrate both to manufacturer specifications.
