Peugeot 408 ADAS Calibration

Peugeot's 408 fastback crossover launched with Drive Assist 2.0 as standard – the most integrated version of Peugeot's ADAS suite, combining semi-autonomous lane centring with adaptive cruise control. Built on the same EMP2 platform as the 308 and 508, the 408's sloping roofline and distinctive front end position its sensors differently to a conventional hatchback. If Drive Assist 2.0 has deactivated after a repair, the entire sensor array needs professional recalibration.

ADAS Systems on Your Peugeot 408

The 408 (2022+) is Peugeot's newest model and ships with Drive Assist 2.0 across all trims – a step above the basic Drive Assist found on older Peugeots:

  • Drive Assist 2.0 – combines ACC, lane centring, and Active Safety Brake into a semi-autonomous driving mode. The system manages acceleration, braking, and lateral positioning simultaneously.
  • Active Safety Brake – radar and camera fusion AEB with pedestrian and cyclist detection. Standard on all trims.
  • Adaptive Cruise Control with Stop & Go – radar behind the front bumper, works down to standstill in traffic.
  • Active Lane Keeping Assist – windscreen camera with active steering correction, not just a warning.
  • Long Range Blind Spot Monitoring – rear quarter radar sensors covering motorway-speed overtaking distances.
  • Rear Cross Traffic Alert – warns of crossing traffic when reversing.
  • Driver Attention Alert – steering input analysis for fatigue detection.

The 408's fastback body means the windscreen has a steeper rake angle than a traditional saloon. The camera module behind the rearview mirror sits at a more acute angle, making precise calibration alignment particularly important after windscreen replacement.

Common Triggers – Peugeot 408 ADAS Faults

Windscreen replacement on the fastback body

The 408's steeply raked windscreen is more susceptible to stone damage at motorway speeds. After replacement, the camera's angular position must be precisely recalibrated – the steeper rake means tighter calibration tolerances compared to upright windscreens on models like the 2008. Our windscreen calibration accounts for the 408's specific geometry.

Front bumper and radar alignment

The 408's sculpted front bumper integrates the radar sensor in the lower grille section. Any bumper removal – whether for collision repair, respray, or parking sensor fitting – can shift the radar enough to disable ACC and the radar element of Active Safety Brake. Radar recalibration at our fixed £349 rate brings both systems back.

Drive Assist 2.0 integration warnings

Because Drive Assist 2.0 fuses multiple sensor inputs into one semi-autonomous system, a calibration fault in any single sensor can disable the entire suite. A windscreen camera misalignment doesn't just affect lane keeping – it takes the combined ACC and lane centring mode offline too.

Peugeot 408 Calibration Pricing

ServicePrice
Windscreen Calibration£199
Radar/Sensor Calibration£349
Collision Calibration£349
Full System Reset£499

The 408's Drive Assist 2.0 integration means a windscreen camera fault often disables multiple systems at once – but the fix is still our standard £199 windscreen calibration, covering the camera and restoring the full suite.

Peugeot 408 ADAS Calibration — FAQ

Common questions about calibrating ADAS systems on the Peugeot 408

Drive Assist 2.0 is Peugeot's most advanced ADAS package, standard on all 408 models. It combines Adaptive Cruise Control, Active Lane Keeping, and Active Safety Brake into a semi-autonomous system that handles acceleration, braking, and steering simultaneously. All three functions depend on calibrated sensors — if one is misaligned, the entire suite deactivates.
