Peugeot e-208 ADAS Calibration

The Peugeot e-208 shares every ADAS sensor with its petrol sibling – same CMP platform, same camera behind the windscreen, same radar behind the bumper. What changes is how those systems interact with an electric drivetrain. Regenerative braking feeds data to Adaptive Cruise Control, and if the radar is misaligned after a repair, the ACC and regen braking coordination breaks down. If your e-208 is showing Active Safety Brake or Lane Keeping warnings after bodywork, the sensors need professional recalibration.

ADAS Systems on Your Peugeot e-208

The e-208 (2019+) runs on the CMP/eCMP platform – the electric variant of the same architecture used by the Peugeot 208. All ADAS hardware is identical between the petrol and electric versions, mounted in the same positions.

  • Active Safety Brake – automatic emergency braking using the windscreen camera and front radar. Standard on all e-208 trims.
  • Lane Keeping Assist – windscreen camera monitors lane markings and applies corrective steering. Requires recalibration after any windscreen replacement.
  • Lane Departure Warning – audible and visual alert when drifting without indicating. Same camera dependency as Lane Keeping.
  • Adaptive Cruise Control – available on Allure and GT trims. Radar behind the front bumper panel. On the e-208, ACC coordinates with regenerative braking to maintain distance – a misaligned radar disrupts both the cruise control and the regen deceleration profile.
  • Driver Attention Alert – monitors steering patterns for drowsiness.

When Your Peugeot e-208 Needs Calibration

After windscreen replacement

The e-208 is a city car. Windscreen stone chips are common, and every glass replacement means the camera loses its calibration reference. Lane Keeping Assist and Active Safety Brake will deactivate until the camera is recalibrated. Most glass companies don't carry the Peugeot-specific diagnostic equipment for this.

After bumper repair or low-speed impact

The e-208's supermini proportions put the front radar close to ground level – parking bumps and kerb strikes are frequent triggers. Even a cosmetic respray requiring bumper removal can shift the radar enough to trigger ACC and Active Safety Brake faults. Radar recalibration restores both systems.

Regenerative braking behaviour changes

If your e-208's ACC feels inconsistent after a repair – hesitating or applying friction brakes earlier than expected – the radar alignment has likely shifted. The system relies on accurate distance data to blend regen and mechanical braking.

Peugeot e-208 ADAS Calibration — FAQ

Common questions about calibrating ADAS systems on the Peugeot e-208

No. The e-208 uses identical ADAS hardware in the same positions as the petrol 208 — both sit on the CMP platform. The calibration process is the same. The only difference is how ACC interacts with the electric drivetrain's regenerative braking.
