Porsche 911 ADAS Calibration

Most 911 owners don't think of their car as having driver assistance systems – it's a sports car, not a motorway cruiser. But the 992-generation 911 (2019+) carries Adaptive Cruise Control, Lane Keep Assist, ParkAssist, and optional Night Vision Assist. A bumper repair after a minor rear quarter scuff, and suddenly Lane Change Assist warnings appear on the dashboard. Even sports cars need ADAS calibration.

ADAS Systems on Your Porsche 911

The 992-generation (2019+) carries more ADAS than many owners realise:

  • Adaptive Cruise Control (ACC) – Front radar behind the lower grille area. Standard on most trims.
  • Lane Keep Assist (LKA) – Windscreen-mounted camera behind the rearview mirror
  • Lane Change Assist – Rear corner radar sensors for blind spot monitoring during overtaking
  • ParkAssist – Front and rear ultrasonic parking sensors
  • Night Vision Assist – Optional thermal imaging camera in the front bumper, detecting pedestrians and animals beyond headlight range
  • Traffic Sign Recognition – Camera-dependent, feeding the instrument cluster

991 generation (2011–2019): Basic ParkAssist only. No ACC, no lane keeping, no Night Vision. Minimal calibration requirements.

The 992's rear-engine layout means the heaviest component sits behind the rear axle, but ADAS sensors are still positioned conventionally – front radar behind the lower grille, camera behind the windscreen, corner radars in the rear bumper.

Why Your Porsche 911 Needs Calibration

After Bumper Repair or Respray

The 911's low front bumper houses the ACC radar. A bumper respray, repair after a parking scuff, or any grille work shifts the radar alignment. ACC and Porsche Active Safe both lose accuracy. Rear bumper work affects Lane Change Assist corner radar sensors – the 911's wide rear haunches make these vulnerable to parking damage.

After Windscreen Replacement

Lane Keep Assist and Traffic Sign Recognition use the windscreen camera. After glass replacement, our £199 Windscreen Calibration restores both systems.

Track Day and Performance Driving

911 owners who track their cars subject the bumpers to kerb strikes, gravel impacts, and occasional barrier contact. These can shift sensor alignment without obvious damage. If ACC or Lane Change Assist stops working after a circuit session, the sensors likely need recalibration.

Porsche 911 ADAS Calibration — FAQ

Common questions about calibrating ADAS systems on the Porsche 911

The 991 (2011–2019) has basic ParkAssist but no ACC, Lane Keep Assist, or Night Vision. ADAS calibration requirements are minimal on 991 models. The 992 (2019+) is where the full ADAS suite was introduced.
