ADAS Systems on Your Renault 4 E-Tech

The 4 E-Tech shares its CMF-BEV platform with the Renault 5 E-Tech, but the taller body and different bumper geometry give it a distinct sensor layout. All UK models come with EASY DRIVE as standard:

  • Active Emergency Braking (AEB) – radar and camera fusion detecting vehicles, pedestrians, and cyclists. Standard on all trims.
  • Adaptive Cruise Control (ACC) – radar-based speed and distance management. The sensor is integrated into the front bumper panel.
  • Lane Keeping Assist (LKA) – windscreen-mounted camera tracks lane markings and applies corrective steering.
  • Lane Departure Warning (LDW) – camera-based drift alerts when indicating is not active.
  • Traffic Sign Recognition (TSR) – camera-dependent, reads and displays speed limits on the instrument cluster.
  • Blind Spot Warning (BSW) – rear-quarter radar sensors on higher trims for monitoring adjacent lanes.

Because the 4 E-Tech is a new model, all UK examples carry the same ADAS configuration – no generational differences to account for.

When Your Renault 4 E-Tech Needs Calibration

After front bumper repair – the 4 E-Tech's retro-inspired front end integrates the radar sensor into the bumper panel rather than behind a separate emblem. Even a minor cosmetic repair or panel respray near the sensor housing can shift radar alignment. ACC and AEB will deactivate or produce false warnings until radar recalibration is completed.

After windscreen replacement – the forward camera controls LKA, LDW, and TSR. A new windscreen repositions the camera mounting point, making windscreen calibration mandatory before these systems re-engage.

After a collision affecting both ends – if both front radar and windscreen camera are disturbed, the entire EASY DRIVE suite shuts down. Our Full System Reset covers all sensors in one appointment.
