Renault Grand Scenic ADAS Calibration

The Renault Grand Scenic is the seven-seat MPV sibling of the Scenic, and the third generation (2016-2022) came with Renault's driver assistance systems as standard on higher trims. The extended body and longer rear overhang mean the Grand Scenic's rear parking sensors sit in different positions compared to the standard Scenic – a detail that matters when rear bodywork triggers a calibration need. ADAS Line handles all Grand Scenic ADAS calibration from £199.

ADAS Systems on Your Renault Grand Scenic

The Grand Scenic (2016-2022, third generation) predates the EASY DRIVE branding – its systems use individual names. ADAS availability depends heavily on trim level and optional equipment packages:

  • Active Emergency Braking (AEB) – radar-based, standard on Dynamique S Nav trim and above. Detects vehicles ahead and applies autonomous braking.
  • Adaptive Cruise Control (ACC) – available as standard or optional depending on trim. Uses the radar sensor behind the front bumper emblem.
  • Lane Departure Warning (LDW) – camera-based drift alerts. Standard on mid-tier trims and above.
  • Blind Spot Warning (BSW) – rear radar sensors, available on higher trims. Particularly useful on the Grand Scenic given its larger blind spots from the extended body.
  • Easy Park Assist – ultrasonic sensors for automated parallel and perpendicular parking. Available on Signature and Signature Nav trims.

Note: Lane Keeping Assist with active steering correction was not available on the Grand Scenic generation sold in the UK. The system offers LDW (warning only), not LKA (active steering). This is a key difference from newer Renaults like the Arkana and Austral.

Common Calibration Triggers for the Renault Grand Scenic

After front bumper repair – the Grand Scenic's front radar sits behind the Renault emblem on the bumper. Bumper replacement after a parking incident or collision repair in the grille area shifts this sensor. AEB and ACC will produce dashboard warnings or stop working entirely until radar recalibration is completed.

After windscreen replacement – LDW depends on the camera behind the rearview mirror. Even though the Grand Scenic lacks active Lane Keeping Assist, the forward camera still needs recalibration after a windscreen swap to restore Lane Departure Warning and any camera-dependent features.

After rear bumper work on seven-seat models – the Grand Scenic's extended rear body positions parking sensors and BSW radar differently than the five-seat Scenic. Rear-end repairs on a Grand Scenic require model-specific sensor recalibration, not generic Scenic procedures.

Renault Grand Scenic ADAS Calibration — FAQ

Common questions about calibrating ADAS systems on the Renault Grand Scenic

The Grand Scenic shares the same platform and front sensor layout as the Scenic, but the longer body changes the rear sensor geometry. Front radar and camera calibration procedures are identical. Rear sensor calibration uses Grand Scenic-specific parameters. See all Renault models
