Renault Kangoo E-Tech ADAS Calibration

The Renault Kangoo E-Tech is the all-electric version of Renault's compact van – and it carries the same ADAS sensor suite as the diesel Kangoo, with the forward radar and windscreen camera in identical positions. Fleet operators running Kangoo E-Tech vans in urban delivery routes face a higher risk of minor bumper damage from tight loading bays and city parking, making radar misalignment a recurring issue. ADAS Line calibrates Kangoo E-Tech systems from £199 at 70+ UK workshops.

ADAS Systems on Your Renault Kangoo E-Tech

The Kangoo E-Tech (third generation, 2022+) shares its platform with the standard Kangoo and offers the same driver assistance package. ADAS availability varies by trim and specification:

  • Active Emergency Braking (AEB) – radar-based autonomous braking detecting vehicles and pedestrians. Standard on most trims.
  • Lane Departure Warning (LDW) – camera-based alerts when the van drifts without indicating. Uses the windscreen-mounted camera.
  • Blind Spot Warning (BSW) – available on higher specifications. Particularly important on a van where the cargo area creates larger blind spots.
  • Rear Parking Sensors – ultrasonic sensors in the rear bumper. Essential on a van where rear visibility through cargo is limited.
  • Rear View Camera – standard on higher trims, integrated into the rear door handle area.
  • Traffic Sign Recognition (TSR) – camera-dependent speed limit display.

Unlike the Renault Arkana or Austral, the Kangoo E-Tech does not have Highway & Traffic Jam Companion or ACC as standard – its ADAS is focused on urban safety for commercial use.

When Your Renault Kangoo E-Tech Needs Calibration

After front bumper damage from loading bay contact – Kangoo E-Tech vans operating in urban delivery regularly encounter tight loading bays and car parks. The front radar is behind the bumper – repeated low-speed contacts in delivery environments can gradually shift the sensor, causing AEB to malfunction. Radar recalibration restores accurate detection.

After windscreen replacement – the forward camera controls LDW and TSR. Van windscreens take more stone chip damage from motorway driving between delivery routes, making replacement more frequent. Every swap requires camera calibration.

After rear-end incidents – reversing collisions are common in commercial van use. If rear parking sensors or BSW are affected, the rear sensor array needs recalibration. Our guide on what ADAS calibration involves covers the full process.
